I helped build many of the fiberglass props used in the studio setting and also played a National Guard extra for one week of the filming. The slow-motion shot of the M-60 machine gun firing is me (all you see is one eye peeking over the barrel). During the filming of one of the explosions inside the National Guard encampment, the heat was so intense on my back that I thought they had caught me on fire! (I was behind the sandbags with my back toward the explosion).
