Go behind the scenes and learn what went on during the making of the 1985 Horror / Occult
movie starring Lori Cardille, Terry Alexander, Joe Pilato et al.
All the zombie extras received one hat with 'I was a zombie in Day of the Dead' written on it, one autographed copy of 'The Dead Walk' newspaper featured at the beginning of the film and one dollar.
Although this film was set in Florida, most of it was filmed in a salt mine outside Pittsburgh PA.

Lori Cardille said on TV that, in the scene where all the hands are coming through the wall (the second picture on your Day of the Dead page), her real life husband's hand was protecting her stomach and breasts so that the other 'hands' would not touch her.
When movies are made, scenes are often
left on the cutting room floor.
Deleted scene from deserted city.
EXT. A MAIN STREET - DAY
We are looking down from a HIGH ANGLE. The corner of A TALL
BUILDING is in the FOREGROUND. A CORPSE is dangling from A
NOOSE. It's'been dead for some time. It's mostly bone now, its
blackened flesh picked clean by scavenger birds and harbour
rats. A SIGN flaps against its chest cavity. Its hurriedly
scrawled message reads:TAKE ME, LORD! I LOVE YOU!
THE ROPE BREAKS suddenly and THE CORPSE FALLS out of frame.
EXT. THE STREET - DAY
We're at GROUND LEVEL now...SMACK!!! THE CORPSE HITS THE
PAVEMENT and SHATTERS as though made of potter's clay. BONES
bounce over a wide area. THE SIGN is carried off by the WIND.
Sometimes, there will be several versions
of a movie floating about on cable, tv or video etc. Other times, a Director may
release a special cut of the movie.
