The guitar duel, apparently, was originally about 15 minutes long. It was edited to the last 2 minutes or so to heighten the impact of the scene. Guitar heads may be upset, but obviously it was a good call dramatically.

The barn that Ralph Machio and the girl are in was bought from my great grandmother Eva Deaton. I believe she was paid $1000 for the barn. They came and took the barn piece by piece and moved it to where they wanted it. They then put it back together just as it was in her back yard. I think it is neat to know that I use to play in that same barn, just on different soil.

One of the scenes deleted from this movie was the church scene. When the three main chartacers walked in while the choir was singing, I was only 9 years old then and I was sitting in front of Ralph when they were seated.

As a kid, me and my brothers were also extras in the deleted church scene that was replaced by a dream sequence.

The scene took place in old roadside church in Mississippi. As the the 3 main characters were entering the church, they stopped in the doorway taken back by the choir singing, Me and my family were behind them and had to move around them to enter the church.
