Wanna see the real life filming location used for The Kovics' Home in the movie?

These scenes were actually shot at Private Residential Home, located in Dallas, Texas. Google Map

Ron's High School is Henderson Elementary at 2200 South Edgefield Avenue, Elmwood, Oak Cliff.

The parade in the beginning of the movie goes down the road of Broadway in North Massapequa. It passes the A and S Pork Store which is on the corner of Broadway and Pine Street, North Massapequa NY. [Thanks to Caryn Brienza]

I was an extra in the movie. The later parade scene (after Ron came home from the war) was filmed on Edgefield approximately between Elmhurst and Melbourne. The scene after the parade where he gave a speech and started having flashbacks was also on Edgefield. Most of the shops along the street had fake storefronts put in front of them. However, Ron's best friend in the movie (played by Jerry Levine) owned a diner that was in some kind of dome shape. They built that especially for the movie right along Edgefield then tore it down. [Thanks to Monica Tetrault]

Several of the bar scenes were filmed at 'Milo Butterfingers', a real sports bar at the corner of Greenville and Yale by the campus of Southern Methodist University. Throughout the bar are several film mementos and props. [Thanks to Chris Johnston]

The protests are led at Dallas Hall at Dedman College, Boaz Lane.

The protest was shot at SMU (Southern Methodist University) in Dallas. Dedman College is just the name of the general college within the University, much like "Cox Business School" is the name of the Business school within the University. [Thanks to Jason Hancock]

The Convention center supposed to be in Chicago is the Dallas Convention Center, 650 South Griffith Street.

The war material was shot in the Philippines and Mexico. The Vietnam firefight sequence where Ron is wounded was filmed at Fort Ilocandia in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The exact location was approximately a quarter mile south of the resort hotel, which is located approximately 10 miles southwest of Laoag City right on the South China Sea. [Thanks to Dustin Birch]

The bar scene in Mexico was made inside the house of Marjo Villanueva in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. The sand dune scene was made in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. [Thanks to Frank Cimatu]

The gym scene was filmed at Sunset High School in Gym 1. [Thanks to Aaron]
