In the scene where Snake shoots a hole through the wall while escaping the "crazies", if you look close it's just drywall with no studs attached. He clearly could have just jumped through it without wasting the ammo... Still, a very cool scene!

Why did they have to save the president if he was only playing a pre-recorded tape?

When Snake is trying to escape from "the Crazies" he kicks in a door and enters a room. Snake stops and looks around, while he is doing this his eye patch moves and you can clearly see Kurt Russell's eye.
