The 1990s just didn't do it for me, i guess.
I don't think i will be buying any of the titles mentioned here.
I have some 90s stuff on dvd, but i don't feel the need to upgrade on those and buy them all over again.
The only one i did upgrade was Boogie Nights, which is my favorite movie of the decade, but overall i'm far more interested in the 70's and 80's.

If we talk about 90s films, i´m mainly collecting movies made in ´90-´93. ´94 max. Some nice (erotic) thrillers, teen comedies etc. were made in that era.
Very rarely i get a movie made in ´95->. Movies mentioned in this thread i have are:

johnny i purchased the 88films uk blu ray release of the original puppetmaster,pleased with it overall,pic quality is a fairly decent 1080p widescreen print and unlike the u.s blu ray release it has lossless audio 5.1 dts hd, but i can't get over the dissapointment that it's slightly trimmed.
saying that so is the current u.s version(it's the r rated version ),but there is a new u.s puppetmaster blu ray release on the horizon so i'll be watching that with close attention,if it's the uncut version i'll sell mine on and then opt for that.

yeah, you're right about that Puppet Master UK blu-ray. I'm not really sure what's cut though. Couldn't find the new Puppet Master release on the BBFC website, but i doubt they had something to do with it. 88Films probably used an incomplete print.
On the plusside, it does have a UK-exclusive commentary and reportedly a sharper overall picture-quality than the US version. I also ordered this UK release, and it already came in at the store. I have yet to go and pick it up though.
I think 88Films is doing a pretty good job with those Full Moon titles. They did a good job on their Tourist Trap dvd-release. I hope they will release TerrorVision (1986) at some point.

88 films have castle freak coming out soon johnny,you're right they can't really be faulted for the effort there putting into these releases and the r rated cut of puppetmaster seems to be the only one in wide circulation at the moment.

the awesome 1993 dolph lundgren action movie joshua tree aka army of one http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Joshua-Tree-Blu-ray/57413/ is to be released in the new year to blu ray from shout factory,i read somewhere it's rumored some time around february,it features 2 cuts of the movie and a widescreen print,and knowing shout factory it will have a good range of extras.
i've also read somewhere that shout factory may have aquired the rights to the terrific 1990s dolph sci fi release - i come in peace aka dark angel,if so hopefully they'll be bringing that to the blu ray format sometime in the not to distant future.

directed by peter manoogian who directed ragewar(1984),eliminators(1986)and the jan michael vincent,tony todd (candyman)crime drama enemy territory from 1987.
stars babylon 5's and watchers 2 actress tracy scoggins.
never seen this one before or the likes of ragewar but have seen the directors 1986 sci fi cult hit eliminators and enemy territory and they are both excellent.

fun little low budget horror this featuring some great special effects and some pretty cool kills.
i own a vhs of this but if the blu ray is reasonably priced i'd definitely consider the upgrade.

coming to blu ray in the u.k on july 8 from 20th century fox are the jim abrahams spoofs - hot shots(1991)and it's 1993 sequel hot shots part deux.
part deux was originally cut by 54 secs. for its cinema 12 rating in the u.k http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=4848051 and then additional cuts were made for its pg rated dvd release. it is believed this new pg rated blu ray is the uncut version with all previous cuts waived.

coming to blu ray july 16 2013 from sonar entertainment is 1991 sci-fi action thriller - eve of destruction starring the late gregory hines and Renée Soutendijk.
i have this on dvd and it's a lot of fun with gregory hines on the trail of killer military robot eve as played by Renée Soutendijk.
Soutendijk has 2 parts in this,not only does she play the part of the killer robot eve but she also plays the the part of dr eve simmons who created the robot and based its looks on her.
it was directed by brit director duncan gibbins who also directed fire with fire in 1986,he sadly died in a california wildfire back in 1993 aged 41.

Never seen Jennifer 8,I'm going to have to check that out,wanted to watch it for sometime now just never got round to seeing it.
Even though it got absolutely slated by the critics I didn't dislike sliver or come to that snake eyes,that weren't to bad either.
Marathon man is great as long as you haven't got a phobia of visiting the dentist.

Sliver and Snake Eyes are good ones, Marathon Man is another film i need to check out again (i remember that evil torture sequence though).

Johnny 101 films are starting to put out some pretty tempting releases,they just released toy soldiers which is a lot of fun and along with the upcoming nemisis box set they've got van damme's a.w.o.l aka Lionheart coming out as well as Rutger hauer's - split second.
There releases tend to be pretty bare bones where extras are concerned but the transfers are normally halfway decent.
The Dolls blu ray I own by them looked pretty decent but pales in comparison to scream factory's american release which is stacked with extras.

Who would have ever guessed that we'd see Trey Parker's Orgazmo out on Bluray? I was sooooo tempted to post the theme song because it's the single greatest movie theme song ever and makes me laugh every time I hear it, but, for the sake of decorum on this family-oriented board, I restrained myself. (But I'm telling you to be a man and go to Youtube and check it yourself if you don't believe me. Absolutely the funniest thing in that whole movie. And the cartoon panels under the opening credits are pretty cool too.)

Code red also do a limited to I think about 2000 copies blu ray edition johnny but it works out expensive at 22 UK pounds included postage,I have shakma on an old no frills full screen DVD and would have been tempted to upgrade it but at that price to import it plus the fact I could also get hit by import tax it just works out way to expensive for my tastes!
I might pick up the widescreen dvd at some point if it drops in price and sell on my old full screen copy on ebay but I think it's sad that code red and scorpion have gone down this route of expensive limited editions as I used to buy loads of there releases.

Bad Influence is indeed quite excellent.
Hired to Kill is another decent Mastorakis actioner. Definitely a low budget film but Nico knows his stuff and the camera moves nicely plus there´s few great wtf moments as usual.

I like all three of these. The Russia House is a beautiful adaptation of a John leCarre spy novel with some fine acting from Sean Connery and Michelle Pfeiffer and a fantastic jazz soundtrack.
What can I say about The Commitments that hasn't been said a hundred time already? If you haven't seen it, it is just a rollicking good time with a kick-a** soundtrack of fantastic hits.
And I have a soft spot for the fun trucker film, Black Dog ("Have you seen it? Have you seen the black dog?" LOL) with Patrick Swayze and M.L. Aday a/k/a Meat Loaf.
You can't go wrong with any of these!

I really like Ferrara's take on Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It's creepy and very underrated. I find it fascinating that the original is a masterpiece, the 1978 remake is suprisingly excellent, and the 1993 version is quite good too. You have three different takes on the same plot, all with excellent results. (Of course, the less said about the fourth version, 2007's The Invasion, the better. )
"Where you gonna go? Where you gonna run? Where you gonna hide?" Meg Tilly's line reading of that from Ferrara's version is perfect and priceless, completely sums up the film.

Though I feel 1978's IOTBS (with Donald Sutherland & Leonard Nimoy) is the best version of this film, I will say that 1993's version is excellent as well - and is my second favorite version.
Though the 1950's original film is classic, I don't find it as effective as the '78 or '93 versions.
I thought the 2007 version was just O.K. - I guess I had seen the story so many times by that point that the plotline(s) had lost their ability to shock.
At some point, it would be interesting to sit down and see all four versions back to back, and compare them all.

The Last of the Finest (1990) starring Brian Dennehy, Jeff Fahey, Joe Pantoliano and Bill Paxton comes out this summer fron Kino Lorber.

The Last of the Finest is a forgotten but decent enough cop film with a nice cast. I haven't seen it probably since it ran on cable in 1991-92.
