Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

i remember that program, i loved it! it was around the time of those weird ozzy programs as well like around the twist and pugwalls summer? remember those??

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Have you ever...ever felt like this..had strange things happen...are you goin round the twist. You bet your *** i remember it, I loved that too, although you have totally lost me at Pugwalls summer????? Eerie indiana was brilliant, I really fancied marshall, and the grey heard boy...who i believe was also Eddie Munster.

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

haha i really cant remember it that much, i remember the weird guy who worked i the ice cream shop that was also sold lots of weird jumble sale type things! the stories were actually pretty eerie for a kids program, the same as the first season of around the twist, some of there episodes were freaky!!! they would never make programs like that today!!

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

I know, there was one with a werewolf which was a bit scary for kids and one where the opticians were these evil mind control weirdos....do you remember the round the twist where the little kid upset some kinda water nymph who kept soaking him, but in the end made firends with him and helped to win a peeing over the wall compitition at school...genius

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

genius*points finger to forhead*hahaha yeah i do!!! it was bronsen wasnt it? and the pee goes over the wall and soaks some teacher if i remember! around that time as well was a programe called are you afraid of the dark! i think it was on cable, some of those episodes were so freaky! they loved to have stories with clowns and poltigiest! that used to freak me out back then when my sister used to watch it!

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Alas...we were cable less, so I missed that one...what about the one when the girl had that weird cat hat that copied what it saw, so she flew at the end after much hilarious belching scenes....I

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

haha im afraid i dont remember that one, i do however remember an episode which i doubt i'll forget haha..the family found a treasure chest full of clothes that got washed up on the shore!turned out they were all clown clothes, so they put them on a scarecrow and obviously, the next thing you know it there is an alive scarecrow clown screaming bloody sunday all over the shop and chasing the kid! never forger haha

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

What about the old fox stole that the girl had to feed lemons to so it would come back to life, and it nearly didnt have any eyes coz someone took the last two...cor blimey guvnor..every one a classic.

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

i dont remember that, but i used to love it when it was on early in the mornings! i think its still on but all the actors have changed and its full of morals!! pah morals smorals!

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Yeah...morals suck!!!!...Morals killed the Fresh Prince!

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

haha yeah! saved by the bell got extremely lame as well, i dont even know what to say about neighbours these days!!!what happend!p.c has ruined everything haha ok maybe not everything, but shhs

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

I always hated saved by the Bell, it was far too cutesy for my liking. I loved my so called life though...did you ever watch that??

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

hmmm the name definitely rings a bell!?! ah this is annoying, its kind of on the tip of my tounge but i cant think of it!was it based on a boy or a girl? it was probably really good but i dont think anything will beat the wonder years for me, from knee high untill now i still love that program!!

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

It was about a girl..she was played by a red haired Clare Danes....it was really good. the wonder years...Brilliant...anyone who doesnt like it, is no friend of mine. Fred Savage was y huuuuge 12 yr old crush, I had two posters with lipstick kisses on...sad, but true.

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

haha allllright, you weirdo [Razz] i gotta say though i loved fred savage films when i was younger!ive still got most of them now!he was just too cool for skool back then!looking back now he was such a billboard gap kid but its all good, youve got to love it!he was the coolest 12 yr old around, or however old he was meant to be! i swear he stayed the same age in all of his films and then suddenly his voice broke in wonder years and he dissapeared! what happened??

i dont think i watched my so called life! i remember the name but thats about it! how lame!

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Austin powers Goldmember....Moley Moley Moley Guacamole Moley Mole Mole!!! He looks the same but different, in the way that Bart does when they show him as a grown up in the Simpsons....it made my day when I saw him.

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

haha oh yeah i remember! i think he was in a couple of episodes of that boy meets world program aswell which has his younger bro in it, that was also in little monsters!! *pushes glasses up nose in geek fashion*

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

I havent seen little monsters for years..it's never on TV...I used to like boy meets world, despite probably being too old to watch it......

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

wow, the website just have a major spazz out, i couldnt get on untill now!weird!

yeah little monsters was a behatch to get!
i had to get it off of ebay in the end and it took agges!damn auctions!

dont you think it would be good to have a one off episode of wonder years where everyones old! i know the parents are probably dead by now but yaknow, if they can bring back elvis for a kingsmill advert im sure they can handle bringing back the parents for a one off wonder years??

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Mine just had a bit of a moment too..damn technology! Yeah...what the sam hell is that advert about???? "you see, all the other bread they said it was high class...but that was just a lie" .....OH MY GOD! but nothing begs the question more than what the blue blazes is that giant jelly fish ad about..I mean who the hell passed that off as a good idea???

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

haha is that the 3 mobile ad with the asain guys body boppin at the end? if so then yah, what in tarrrnation! i think the advert industry has moved onto some kind of crack or something! its all getting abit stupid! i guess theyre better than the standard oxo ads or something witht hat really annoying family and the girl with those massive glasses! haha i dont know why i remember her but she used to reallly annoy me!?!

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Alison!!! Ha...the OXO family were an institution, I wonder if they'll bring back those Nicolas Lindhurst Xmas WH Smiths ads....he must have really needed the money is all I can say. Oh my god do you remember the lame gold blend adverts it was like always in the paper when there was a new one, detailing the plot and stuff...FOR GODS SAKE!

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

thankfully i dont remember! talkin about remembering how the hell do you remember that annoying girls name from the oxo add?? just how is it possible?? hah we're the only people that have written anything on this whole thread! everyone else must think we;re nuts, they blatently have absolutely noooo idea what we're going on about hah

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

I have a really good memory, especially for pointless trivia. Well apart from eerie Indiana everything we've been talking about has been a bit English TV related. You love Alison from the OXO adverts..you want to maaarrrry her..swit swoo (hee hee) Actually you may very well be a lady...so sorry if you are...and if you are...you wanna marry someone who is equally as bad.

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

haha well im not a lady and well if i did marry her then well, that would mean you would have to marry that jeremy beadle with the beadle "good hand" for making cakes hand, how do you feel about that?hah its either him or jim from eastenders? sorry theres no way out of it! already been arranged! gutted... [Razz]

that is pretty amazing that you can remember that though, that really does feel like a long time ago now! i still think though, the cherry on top of the cake for annoying adverts has got to be those stupid lolly pop and doll adverts that are always on during the weekend that are all soo blatently dubbing young kids voices with haggard old men and women! so wrong!!! and soooooo annoying!

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

NOOOOOO.......You and Sonia sittin in a tree K I S S I N G!!!!! besides I'm marrying mini Den so tough luck buddy! ....spare a thought if you would...for the YOP adverts...terrible.."give me YOP me momma til da mornin come"..I bet Eddie Grant is thrilled that his music is being used in such a positive way!

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

haha it sounds like a classic, cant say ive seen it though! well yaknow at least sonia doesnt have cake hand and owns all her own teeth!even if she did get born in the ugly womb. wow at least im not a celebrity, id be all over that spawn of satan magazine hello with that comment hah.

talking about all these bad adverts has made me realise one thing! we watch too much tv haha!! i wish we had halloween adverts and stuff like that, that i always hear about from the states. some zombie adverts would be so cool!! simon peg could do them and they would rule!

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

I know what you mean, everyone on 80's rewind is really excited about halloween, coz it's such a big thing over there...it's really lame here...we tried to copy them...and failed miserably! curse you England for having a crappy halloween in this way (much fist shaking)

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

shake that fist at the rain as well, shake harder!! are you doing anything good for halloween?are youdressing up for anything good? i come back from a bmx road trip the day before so im hoping i'lll be awake enough for a good fancy dress ho down of some sorts!! not to mention a cheesy film, i bought so many after readin what everyone else is going to watch on one of the other threads. im such a sucker for buying vids!hopefully gunna have loads to watch"

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Phew i just had a bath, so soz if I was like FOREVER. I dont have anything planned for halloween, if I'm not working I might partake in muchos boogie ing on down in the 80's room at the local club...yeah baby yeah!

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

alllright, damn that was the quickest bath ever! your lucky you have a local place that plays good cheesy music, ive got nada! well thats a lie! ive got two big clubs but they're full of commerical r'n'b and gayrage.how rubbish! although ive heard threw the grapevine that a pub near me is have a fancy dress late liscene night with 70's and 80's music! it better be true or they'll be hell's toupee (hell to pay) who knows, maybe i'll bring back a dead rockstar through an old record, hey,it could happen

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

But you live in London...surely you must have a reflex there??? I went to the one in Birmingham last friday when I visited my friend...it was BRILLIANT! I believe they are a chain, there's one in Nottingham so there must be one near you. Have you ever been to the Intrepid Fox?? it's in Soho..... Our local club is great, it plays rock in one room and 80"s in the other...YAY! sometimes they even end on livin on a prayer, and in my local pub, on a friday there's a DJ who will paly more than a feeling and since you've been gone as you request it....life is good.

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

haha thats cool! well i dont really live in london, i live just on the outskirts in a place i like to call Nam, thats twickenham for everyone else! nah ive never been to the intrepid fox. im really slack with places up in town. i only really go to gig venues! however the underworld in camden does do a pretty funny 80s night on a friday! if your ever in town id reccomend it, you might not get much old rock but you get the cheese! and thats always funny!
i might be going to nottingham on my trip next week so if i do i'll keep an eye out for it!! i know im deffinitely going to derby which is near nottingham right? do you knwo anything good up there on a saturday night?

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Me and my friend have started a new thing, that we try to go to London every 2 months for a night out...last time she pulled this French dude who looked like Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme) so I was the queen gooseberry! but we had a good time anyway...I think we are gonna check out camden by night, seein as I got dissed by an old goth at Slime Light....coz I was wearin trainers and not new rocks...GIT! I've only been out in Nottingham once, it's a bit rough and full of townies, but there's rock city...that's really good...go there...oh and pub called the pit and the pendulem, which is kinda cool, there is another one but I cant remember it's name its called the something and something.....people there will know if you tell em its a rock pub.....I dont know about derby tho. Have you ever heard of Radlands in Northampton?

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

aw nice one, if we get to nottingham i'll be sure to check it out, ive heard abotu rock city, would be good tosee what the hype is about! ive never been to radlands, we might be ending our trip with a session there as its kind of on our way back home from upt north though! but we dont usually get to ride our kiddies bikes every single day so we'll probably be dead! do ya live near there then?

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Yeah I live in Northampton, its just up from where I work.

Posted by Trash4130 (Member # 3386) on :

Geez, Earth Angel I should have warned you to stay clear of the Trash around here. [Big Grin] Sick'em Ronnie [Wink] , I mean this place is all about quality 90s postings, not flirting and making out. I mean, that's what the 80s board is for isn't it? [Razz]

Btw, this is the most "Action" the 90s board has ever gotten fer sure. [Karate Kid]

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Hey since when does talkin about 90's kids programmes and terrible adverts constitute flirting?.....

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

Posted by ValleyCat (Member # 1322) on :

You'd think all the weirdness would give Eerie a rest at least once a year: maybe on Halloween? But no. Mitchell's dad is planning a special Halloween show on radio station WERD -- a spooky story about invaders from Mars. Then MItchell and Stanley find some cool stuff to wear at the local costume shop, and offer to help the owner organize a Halloween parade in return. Little do they know that they're about to get caught up in the weirdest adventure of all. Because some of the people in Eerie aren't really people -- and Dad's Halloween radio show might just turn out to be true!

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Hang on..his name's Marshall isn't it?

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

Where did you find that Valley?

Yeah your right Earth Angel........i think it's Marshall......and it was Gomez as the shop keeper!
On the Amazon page it said that you would recognize Denise Richards and Toby Maguire as guest stars. E-angel....I also had a crush on Marshall.......he was the lead in Hocus Pocus a cool little Halloween 90's movie! With one of my fav "indie"( [Razz] @ Valley) girls Thora Birch.

I'm dying to buy the DVD now of Eerie! I remember an episode where they were dealing with Tupperware parties and one of them gets shrunk into the tupperware????

Posted by ValleyCat (Member # 1322) on :

Marshall changed his name for Halloween...and I thought you were fans. Geez. [Wink]

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Do you remember the one where there was a new cool kid at the school and a girl with a heart problem that he and Mars fancied....he used to say "live fast die young leave a good lookin' corpse".....then he died and she got his heart in a transplant, and started behaving like him, and everytime Marshall went near her her heart went crazy.....that was a good one........

I think me n Muffy, have the same taste in men.......which must mean she LOVES Johnny Depp......do ya Muffy..do ya?

Posted by ValleyCat (Member # 1322) on :

"To whom it may concern. If you're reading this document, it means I'm either dead - or disappeared under mysterious circumstances. My name is Marshall Teller. Not long ago I was living in New Jersey just across the river from New York City. It was crowded, polluted, and full of crime. I loved it. But my parents wanted a better life for my sister and me - so we moved to a place so wholesome, so squeaky clean, you could only find it on TV. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Sure, my new home town *looks* normal enough, but look again. What's wrong with this picture? The American dream come true, right? Wrong. Nobody believes me, but this is the center of weirdness for the entire planet. Eerie, Indiana. My home sweet home. Still don't believe me? You will."

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

After I read that, the theme music began in my head...which I had forgotten!........I really want to see it now..... [Smile] hey I just discovered if you go to this site.... www.nilsbaer.de/eerie.htm click on world o stuff (on the right) you can listen to the theme tune....it's a german site but it's pretty easy to decipher....oh the memories.

Go on Trash my son......I've been watching mine too...and it is such a nostalgia trip......and yes..it is as good as I remember, it's so cool seeing an episode and remembering watching it the first time around, as if it were last week...and not (cough, splutter) 13 years ago!

Posted by Reddy (Member # 3468) on :

This thread is probably over, but I have a question. I work for a film company that might be buying the UK rights to this series. You think there are enough fans and people who remember it, to bring it to the UK on DVD?

Cheers Gary

Posted by GremlinBreakfast (Member # 2585) on :

I hope so...!! From what I can remember I absolutely loved 'Eerie,' and then it was cancelled and taken off UK screens forever! I was so gutted! [Frown]

There are loads of programmes I used to like... even 'round the twist' which was mentioned on here earlier! If you can get anything to region-2 DVD, I (amongst others that I know) would be so happy! [Wink]

Muffy is such a "Dancing Queen":

You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that goof , watch that Eerie scene, diggin' the Dancing Queen

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy (maybe Grems?)
Night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...

You are the 80's Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen (you wish!)
Dancing Queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that goof , watch that Eerie scene, diggin' the 80's Dancing Queen [Big Grin]
