One of my favourite directors from the late 60s/70s, Peckinpah never pulled his punches and thus his movies retain a gritty relevance that make them classics of their generes.

The Best Peckninpah films...

1) Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia
2) Cross of Iron
3) The Wild Bunch
4) The Getaway
5) Junior Bonner

I like Peck's work too.
Straw Dogs was pretty intense.
I liked the Getaway and the Wild Bunch a lot. Major Dundee with Charlton Heston was cool too.

'Straw Dogs' was very intense, not a film you can watch too often. I've not seen 'Major Dundee', did you see the extended cut (which is closer to what Peckinpah wanted) ?
