Ok guys.... I need help remembering the name of this movie. It was from the late '70s. I remember that there was this guy dressed all in black and I believe he breathed funny. He had this energy sword thingy and all the soldiers he commanded wore this cool white armor. It was set in space. Anyways, there was this young dude who was given one of those energy swords by this old guy in a brown robe who lived in the desert. He showed the dude how to use the sword.
The old man and the young dude met up with a smart allec pilot and a big hairy dude that looked like Harry from Harry & The Hendersons. They all flew in a spaceship to go fight the man in black and rescue a girl who wore a white dress and had a funny looking hairdo with these buns on the side of her head.
Anyways...the young dude joined the air force or something and flew these space jets and attacked the Man In Black's space station and blew it up.
I know this sounds pretty vague, but if anyone could help me remember the title so I might find a bootleg of it on e-bay or something I would appreciate it. I'v only seen it that once and I've never heard of it again. I thought it was very cool and I wish they would make a sequel or something. It would be really cool if they would make toys or action figures from it because it had a lot of cool characters and spaceships.
Thanks for your help.

Wow, that's it! Star Wars. I have been searching for that movie forever! Thanks. I saw it back in '77 and I've been wanting to see it again. Too bad they don't make a sequel or something to it because it was such a good film. It would be cool if they made an action figure or some sort of collectible from that movie to own, but I guess with such an obscure little film that will never happen.

Yea Valley, I'm Stoked. I've been going out to this theater north of Dallas interviewing these hard core fans that are camping out there in line waiting for the midnight showing on the 19th. I'm interviewing them for a documentary I'm making about lining up for episode 3.
It's pretty sad how much time some of these people devote to Star Wars. It is a religion to some of them. One guy I talked to told me that when episode 1 came out, he quit his job and left his wife to line up for 30 days for the movie. He ended up getting a divorce over it.
That's pretty sad. These people definately have their priorities screwed up!
Some of them told me they sold everything they owned and quit their jobs just to be in this line.
But it sure is cool to see a line full of stormtroopers!!!

Hey Valley and Isis...let's drop our lives and line up now for the Land Of The Lost movie!!!!! I'll dress like a sleestack!

I would want to see your documentary about those people. I see them on tv and think how could you keep a job....Hey Mr. Smith would be ok if I took a leave of absence for the next three months to pursue my dream of dressing up like a Stormtrooper and standing in line for a movie premier?....Why sure Valley, "May the force be with you", because money defintely won't be! [Razz]

Hey Bigfoot...did you see all the cool action figures and toys Hasbro has out for Star Wars 3? If I was a kid, that would be the line I would be standing in.

Star Wars Toys

btw, Sleestacks still scare the cripes out fo me to this day! [Eek!]

Yea Valley. Those toys are cool. I remember some fool on this board saying he stood in a line for the midnight toy release a few weeks back and had to fight other Star Wars nerds just to score one of those Darth Taters. What a dope! I bet that guy is a total dork! [Smile]

Why on Earth would you line up for 30 days to watch a movie? I have never seen anyone stand in line for days for a movie in my town ever. I remember there being lines around the block for movies like Grease and Star Wars, but we still got in eventually. Those people to me are deeply disturbed, because that goes above and beyond even what an "extreme fan" would do.

Bigfoot, I would maybe stand in line for a few days to see the release of Land of the Lost-if it was ever a movie.(And since I have no job-that I'd be fired from)But, not the new one. You could be a Sleestack, I'll be Holly, and Valley could flip a coin on either being Dopey or Cha-Ka. [Wink] [Razz] [Big Grin] [Cool]
