Well it's a Romero classic that came out in the 70s, and just recently has been re-envisioned and released this past week. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I for one was skeptical at first being the huge Romero fan that I am, but after seeing this new one, I actually liked it a bit better.

I love horror and slasher films so this remake was right up my alley. The acting was great cuz the cast were a bunch of cynics. It was humorous and yet still squeezed a shriek or two from the audience. Great gore and some new surprising twists. Anyway, anybody else see it yet?

I haven't seen it, but I recently bought the DVD of the 30th Anniversary Night Of The Living Dead and it has some new scenes that were shot and edited in to enhance the story. Have you seen it?

I hate re-,makes but this one was actullay pretty good. Imagine...fast moving zombies!!! I mean, the old "Braaaaaainnnnsss" type..you could out-run those, but in this movies they were fast!!!

OK... How come all the adults like it, and I, the kid, didn't really like it??? I'm supposed to like gory movies, but this one wasn't as good as I'd hoped. The gore got kind of ridiculous after a while. I sound like grandma.

Same name, same basic premise, totally different movie.
Romero's was definitely more groundbreaking and Iconic, but it was also very cheap.
The remake movie hasn't given us anything new or original to see, but it has successfully provided us with some cheap thrills and spills. I didn't think it was particularly gory. But the presence of running zombies definitely added some much needed tension to the rather predictable plot. While the original was very good, it wasn't particularly thrilling, but the remake is (well, more than the original).
