I remember watching this TV film a bit back in the late 80s. Truth be told, it hasn't aged as well as it could have and dips a little too much into formulaicality, but still the special effects are halfway decent, the various explanations given for how Santa's routine work are plausible, and while many similar holiday films offer up threats to the continuation of the holidays, this one is at least believable (Santa's workshop facing impending explosion from unaware oil miners). Who else remembers it?

I have this and still enjoy it. The most sugary of all Christmas films. I can't help but to have a fixed grin on my face through a lot of it [Big Grin]

Well, I don't think it's anywhere near as sugary as The Brady Bunch movie or Babes in Toyland, (I don't think any movie can out cheese that one). But yeah, it has it's moments. I've only seen it a couple times and it's not too bad. Pretty much your run-of-the-mill TV movie drama with a Christmas plot thrown in.
