Watched The Education of Allison Tate (1986) last night. Interesting film this one. It´s somekind of teen drama with a strong message.
I liked the cast which includes young people like Leslie Hope, Bernard White, Catherine Keener, Donovan Leitch Jr and Hank Cheyne plus older people like Sondra Currie, Joshua Bryant, Joe Santos, Barbara Bosson and Greg Mullavey.
So, White and Keener are the main kidnappers. They are not bad people but they do what they think they have to. Especially White is awesome in this film, i was glad to see that he has quite nice cv on imdb. When they kidnap Hope, she´s with Leitch and Cheyne and they go hiding into a barn near the city. This is when the film starts to feel like Breakfast Club. Everyone tells about his/her own problems and Hope/Allison Tate is the one who learns most about other people´s problems. She´s a bit spoiled rich girl and yes, this is where the name of this film comes.
While this movie is a bit amateurish in places and definitely has it´s flaws, i still recommend it. The story is interesting and i really liked some of the dialog. The score, composed by John D´Andrea is synth heavy and a bit Tangerine Dreamish which is a strong plus in my books. Like i said the cast is good and Currie even shows some skin. Breakfast Club in a barn? Well, why not

Cheers atomik for reviewing it,sounds pretty good despite a few faults,I'll try and pick up a cheap vhs at some point,i'll keep my eyes peeled on eBay.
They have got it on amazon UK but it's about seven UK pounds upwards,if it was say about 5 pounds including postage i'd go for it but I'll just hold off for a cheaper copy.
