Secrets of a Maried Man (1984)

"A man (Shatner) going through a mid-life crisis, starts patronizing prostitutes.
Eventually, he meets a very expensive one (Shepherd) and he thinks he has it all.
That is until her pimp starts hounding him." (IMDb)

This was a fun made-for-tv flick starring William Shatner, Michelle Phillips,
Cybill Shepherd, Jackson Davies and Glynn Turman.

the cast did a good job and the plot was interesting enough.
It was fun to see Shatners frustration, pressure at work, 3 kids yelling and fighting, wife bringing her work home...
No more romance, seduction and passion.
Suddenly he sees ladies of the night on every corner and the man is hooked [Smile]

Turman also gives a wicked performance as the sleazy pimp.

Next: Shatner is a concerning father in "Broken Angel."

aTomiK .. "Broken Angel" is a decent made for tv movie.. but if you are on a Shatner non Star Trek kick .. have you seen "The Babysitter" from 1980 or the 70's horror film "Kingdom of Spiders"?

I recommend both for William Shatner fans.

I remember that Kingdom of Spiders is a very good and scary movie,
especially for us who suffer from arachnophobia [Smile]
The Babysitter? Coming soon... [Cool]

Broken Angel (1988)

"A man (William Shatner) combs Los Angeles for his missing daughter, and discovers she belongs to a gang dealing in crack." (IMDb)

This was indeed a decent tv-drama directed by Richard T. Heffron.
Starring William Shatner, Susan Blakely, Roxann Dawson, Jason Horst, Brock Peters, Erika Eleniak and Amy Lynne.

Lynne & Eleniak when life was good
 -

Once again i liked the cast very much, especially Shatner shines.
I also liked the score composed by James Di Pasquale, he also composed music for the movie RAD.

This time itīs the wife who has cheated which brings some tension
but all is forgiven after their daughter disappears during the prom night.
Naturally the police is too busy so Shatner decides to find his daughter alone.

Itīs LFN - Live For Now (white rich gang) against The Dragons (Koreans)
and drug dealing is the name of the game.

Itīs great to follow Shatner in the L.A. City streets
and finally he gets some help from the L.A. gang project worker.

William Shatner is the star here and thereīs really not much to see for Eleniak fans.
Solid tv-movie nonetheless.

Next: Shatner having trouble with... The Babysitter!

The Babysitter (1980)

"Overprotective mother Liz Benedict meets 18 year-old orphan Joanna Redwine and hires her as house help
and live-in companion to rambunctious daughter Tara.
Liz's husband Jeff isn't too thrilled with the arrangement, and his fears soon prove justified
when Joanna begins to manipulate everyone and to slowly destroy the family.
Meanwhile next-door neighbor Dr. Linquist investigates and discovers Joanna has a disturbing past.
(IMDb)

This was a decent thriller, typical evil babysitter flick, much like Summer Girl (1983)
It was directed by Peter Medak (The Changeling, The Krays, Romeo is Bleeding)
Starring Patty Duke, Stephanie Zimbalist, William Shatner, Quinn Cummings and John Houseman.

 -

24 year old Zimbalist looks pretty and i liked the location very much.
The opening theme tune sets the mood nicely, pure giallo.
Shatnerīs role is not that big.
The story mainly follows his housewife who lives in their big house with the daughter
and their relationship with the manipulating babysitter.

Solid but very slow movie, i think i liked Summer Girl a bit more.

Hereīs the danish VHS cover art which thinks that William Shatner likes to be called William Slater [Smile]
