"A young man from a small town goes to Hollywood to make his fortune.
He gets hired as a bouncer at a disco club, but soon finds himself caught up in drugs,
gangsters and eventually has to flee when his boss and another bouncer are murdered by drug dealers,
who are soon after him (IMDb)

Watched Club Life aka King of the City last night
and it was a decent crime/disco drama written and directed by Norman Thaddeus Vane.

Starring Tom Parsekian, Jamie Barrett, Tony Curtis, Dee Wallace and Michael Parks.
Co-stars include familiar faces like Pat Ast and Kristine DeBell.

Itīs a pretty sad story about the 80s club scene.
Booze, Drugs, mobsters and violence rule the night.

The soundtrack was fantastic. Lots of great songs
and i especially love the Elizabeth Lamers tunes but couldnīt find them on YouTube.

Neon lights, Hollywood nights, fighting, dancing and romancing.
See the awesome neon nunchaku scenes and the main couple making love on see-through aquarium mattress.
Pure 80s [Smile]

That's it! I remember seeing this in a movie store on the 90's and making the mistake of not picking it up. Merde.

Riptide, check it out if you get the chance.
Itīs not a classic by any means but itīs a fun ride with a great soundtrack.

Parsekian was also in Hot Resort (1985)
Would love to see that one.

no matter what the critics thought of hot resort(it's not really the sought of film there going to like anyway) i always found it to be a lot of fun.
seen it a few times,as you can imagine it's completely over the top and can be pretty silly in places but it's also genuinley funny in a lot of parts as well.
never been released to dvd,i had the original uk guild home video vhs release from the mid 80s but i traded it in as the picture and sound were starting to deteriorate.

cannon done a film round about similar sought of time called hot chili,i think it's like a lemon popsicle style sex comedy ,never seen it but wouldn't mind checking it out!

i also like the look of club life,i'll have to see if i can get my hands on it!

atomik,i've just spotted on the cover it was released by troma films,is it quite realistic or is the toxic avenger and load of other bug eyed aliens also in the club as well [Big Grin]

Just spotted it myself [Cool]

It was not mentioned in the movie that itīs a Troma film, maybe they added that later.
So, no monsters, aliens or any OTT Troma stuff here [Big Grin]

I own Hot Chili VHS tape.
Itīs ok, plenty of nudity but itīs not among the best of the genre.

Nude girls on the back cover so i wonīt scan the cover art [Smile]

Hot Moves is much better, have you seen it warrior?

yeh i liked hot moves atomik,a fun movie, plus it's got jill schoelen in it,i've always liked her.
i've got hot moves on a region dvd 1 dvd,it was released by a company called code red,i have a few of there discs - soul survivor, hot moves, sweet sixteen and they've all been of good quality!

i can remember reading some not to favourable reviews for hot chilli, unless i can get hold of it dirt cheap i'll think i'll hold out on it for a while!

hot resort on the other hand i would say is worth tracking down atomik,if you can get hold of a cheap vhs of it i reckon give it a go,
it's no classic but it's still a lot of fun!

Now i know why this didn't make sense to me at first..

I got Club Life / King Of The City mixed up with this one :

 -

Knights Of The City, also from 1986

Yeah, itīs easy to mix these two movies.
I have Knights of the City on vhs and itīs ok. Iīm pretty sure that we discussed about it here but i think that weīve lost the thread.
