Great point Devo!

If you've never seen NotC (either one) they are a must!

And with 'Comet' now available on Netflix instant watch .. please follow Devo's advice and give it a viewing as soon as possible.

Hahaha, I just saw this yesterday on there! I will probably have to give it another go here in the near future.

Do we have a thread that is dedicated to 80's movies on Netflix Instant? If not we should.

Just discovered this thread - "Night of the Comet" was amazing; incredible post-apocalyptic film, with a nice amount of humor & a fantastic soundtrack - notably Cyndi Lauper's "Girls just want to have fun" during a key scene - LOL. On the surface, the film seemed to be a cheap sci-fi B movie - however, the effects budget must have been big because it was a lot of work to make a large city seem deserted; also the zombie/mutant effects were great - and, the scene with the red sky was incredible as well.

This is definitely a quintessential '80's flick in many ways. It's been on Blu-ray for a while at this point.

It's also worth noting that two of the film's stars (Robert Beltran & to a lesser extent Mary Woronov) also starred in another early '80's black comedy, "Eating Raoul".
