"Kill Me Again" starts off with two people robbing the mob by killing one of them and stealing their brief case. It turns out that the brief case has a lot more money than they thought (close to $9ook). This means they are on the run like totally fer sure since the mob is not going to let $900k just walk away from them. The two thieves with the money Vince (Michael Madsen) and Fay (Joanne Whalley-Kilmer) are not on the same page; Vince wants to lay low so the mob doesn’t find them and Fay wants to go crazy in Vegas instead. Fay knocks out the unsuspecting Vince and takes the money. Then she decides to hire Jack Andrews (Val Kilmer), a private investigator, to make it look like she has been killed and give her a false identity. The problem is that Vince and the mob are both still looking for the money...

I remember watching "Kill Me Again"  on HBO back in the early 90's... I was interested in it because  it re-teamed Val Kilmer with his wife at the time in what had to feel a bit bizarre for them considering the plot.  They had met each other  in 1988 while filming the movie "Willow" and were recently married when this movie came out.

"Kill Me Again" was also the first movie by writer/director John Dahl who gained critical acclaim for the movies "The Last Seduction" and "Joy Ride".  There are situations and plot twists in "Joy Ride" that actually remind me of this movie a bit.

Great supporting performances as well by Michael Madsen and Jon Gries.

Anyone else remember this film?

Always liked John Dahl´s work.
I remember watching this and Red Rock West in the early 90s.
I own The Last Seduction on dvd and Joy Ride was pretty good too.

I think that i´m also gonna get Kill Me Again dvd soon.

I think that John Dahl's early noir stuff--The Last Seduction, Red Rock West, and Kill Me Again--is great. Later stuff, not so good... I thought that Kilmer and Whalley were terrific in Kill Me Again; obviously being married at the time helped with the chemistry between them. Dahl, like so many talented directors who just can't crack the theatrical market with a blockbuster (his later films like Unforgettable, The Great Raid, and Rounders really aren't very good, though John Malkovich's Russian accent in Rounders is hilarious fun to mimic) now works in TV. Too bad. His stuff was fun to watch late 80s and early 90s.

Top flick! but only about three people saw it. Vintage Val Kilmer performance and Michael Madsen was great in this too.

John Dahl is a very hit and miss director: Red Rock West and Rounders are two of my favourite movies, but I'm not too keen on the rest of his resume.

just watched kill me again for the first time in many years, what a great little twisty turny thriller this was.

looking back at how great val kilmer was here and then comparing it to some of the drivel he's turning up in now, unbelievable.

scumbag! [Big Grin]

there's also a great performance by his ex wife joanne whalley killer as the two faced double crossing femme fatale, plus no one plays a scumbag quite like michael madsen ,this and the getaway remake,he's got this type of role down to perfection.

the guy from fright night 2 and real genius, not sure of his name i'll have to look it up also turns in a decent performance as val kilmers buddy.

superbly directed by john dahl and with atmospheric location shooting and music score it all adds up to a top notch thriller.

great stuff!
