I am convinced that almost every 80's movie featured at some point during the film, a station wagon with wood paneling/wallpaper down the side.

Here's an example:

 -

Your job is to contribute between 1 and 3 movies of these wood panel station wagons. Just 1-3. Please don't post like 50 at a time. I really want to see how many we can get. If we try really hard this should be a very long thread.

I'll start considering this pic is a spitting image of The Family Truckster:

National Lampoon's Vacation.

Ok, It looks like I need to jump start this thread. C'mon, all you 80's buffs should be able to reel off these movies:

Here's another movie featuring a station wagon with wood paneling down the side.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off:

lomax, escape from new york, where snake, brain and maggie drive down broadway, wood paneled station wagon, with metal bar security reinforcements in the windows.

Alright, keep em coming. Good stuff, Good Package. I could probably reel them off but I am trying to find pics too, which is easier said than done unless I get out all my DVD's and go through them and take screen capture shots and it is hard finding certain pics online too. It's hard going.

I have not seen both the movies you mentioned in a very long time, but remember liking them.

Is it strange that the Friday the 13th movies still scare the bejesus out of me?

nah i dont think so, its reasonable to exercise caution in a locale such as a wooded area, that's where the una-bomber set up base, and those crazy rapists on deliverance, it's probable that there is a machete weilding lunatic in the premises.

Hey Lomax, you ever notice how products from a decade reflect upon cars of that decade? For instance in the 50's everyone was using loud paints and crome, this was also seen on refrigerators, Diners, Toaster, Architecture of the time.

In the wood panel 80's in addition to cars there were a lot of wood panel objects. I remember wood panel televisons, toasters, speakers, Atari, ovens.

Would be sick not to have a wood panel station wagon in a movie like that...

(Sorry for the disturbingly large picture)

Better Off Dead-In the scene where an upset Monique is throwing lemons at the no parking Thursdays from 8 am to 12 pm sign and talking to Lane there is a green simulated wood paneled station wagon parked on the side on the street. Not sure but is this Rickys moms car?

This is my 3rd posting of wooded vehicle finds, I hope you will allow me to list more Bernie. Also, not sure how to post a pic as I am computer illiterate for the most part. Any help would be very much appreciated. Good day

Well, you could try and google for pics, but then it might be harder to find specific ones. Obviously.

For myself I hade The Great Outdoors on my computer and took a screenshot and uploaded the picture at tinypic

When uploaded you'll get a direct link to the pic.

To post pics directly in the thread you need to first choose "Full Reply form" and then click "Image" under the "Instant UBB Code" and paste the link to the pic in the pop-up window. Make sure to not exclude the "http://"

In KARATE KID, after Daniel runs out of the dance with the shower curtain on, he causes some cars to crash, right then you will notice a wood panel station wagon.

I was watching "Revenge of the Nerds" the other day and the revenge of the 'wood panel cars' thread came to mind during the beginning when Lewis's dad is driving them to college.

Post as many as you want. This thread should be monstrous by now. There is like a wood panel car in almost every 80's movie ever made. Almost.
