I know we've discussed this back in the day, but lots of new faces around.

Name one movie that you love that just missed the 80's era...one that you wish was from the 80's....late 70's or early 90's. Typically a movie that has an 80's feel like the others you love.

Mine would be Untamed Heart w' Christian Slater and Marisa Tomi. I love this movie, and it has a great 80's feel for me. I really do wish it was made in the 80's!

Devolution here,

Just my opinion... Untamed heart is awful. Ok maybe not awful BUT is anyone out there in agreeing that you can't catch the puck at the end. I'll give it another shot but I saw it in the movies when it came out and just wasn't sold. Sorry.

Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles 1990 and..... CRY BABY. These two titles should have been made in the 80's

Muriel's Wedding. Would that qualify as an honorary 80's film?

Definitely Pump Up The Volume.

Although it's somewhat of a spoof, I'll have to say The Wedding Singer. Even just based on the soundtrack.

Can't Hardly Wait definitely has that 80's feel along with a bunch of 80's music in it.

The 1999 movie "200 Cigarettes", takes place on New Year's Eve 1981, and totally has the look and feel of an 80's movie. I could just imagine it being actually made during the 80's.

But my problem is....the movie stinks! The story and plot goes nowhere. And most of the characters are just not emotionally attractive.

Off the top of my head, I would say 'Point Break' and 'Rumble in the Bronx'.

The original Halloween definitely has some proto-80s vibes in terms of its influencing the slasher trend of the early '80s and boosting the careers of Jamie Lee Curtis and John Carpenter. I'm not a fan of slashers but I do like the original Halloween for its influence and class.

Animal House deserves a mention too as it helped kick-start the gross-out high school/college comedy genre. It's a little overrated IMHO but is still funny, although I prefer Porky's myself.

Devolution here,

Not at all. I just didn't like the movie. It's probably all about the puck. I had a hard time with that.

Boogie Nights (1997)

Arguably the best movie from the 90's.
Ironically it didn't portray the time in which it was made.
Instead we get a very vivid portrayal of the late 70's and early 80's.

Here's Roller Girl (Heather Graham) at the turn of the decade :

One I thought was a perfect fit.....Miracle Beach starringAmy Dolenz as a genie and Dean Cameron. 1992

Roly Poly Man made in Australia, 1994.
Starring Paul Chubb and Susan Lyons
About a detective who is looking into a survelience video he has made. As the plot unfolds there are giant leeches murdering coroners, exploding brains and cigarette scultures. Cheesy bad humour but ohh so funny.

Meatballs 1979. Bill Murray, Chris Makepeace, a summer camp. Sounds 80's enough to me.
