I've been a lurker on this site for a couple of years now and finally decided to take the plunge and register. Now I need help finding a movie. I know that Fire With Fire is available on ebay in VHS format but unfortunately I no longer have a VCR. So I was wondering if there is anyway to get this on DVD?

I knew it! One of those 65 visitors that I always see listed is real.. and not just Muffy on stealth mode checking the Rewind out every 15 minutes!

Hi Tiffany.. glad you joined and posted. To my knowledge "Fire With Fire" was never released on DVD, but I just sent you a message on how to possibly obtain a copy of the movie. Buyer beware, but seems to be the best way available.

In search of Joe Fisk?

There is no official dvd yet. So you would have to buy a bootleg, transferred from vhs or tv to dvd. You should be able to find it on a google search. Don't expect much quality, these bootlegs are usually very poorly done. It is available to watch on youtube if you want to watch it immediately.

I would have been one of the lurkers late at night since I work night shifts LOL. I knew Fire With Fire wasn't out on DVD but I do know there are ways of getting copies. Quality isn't a huge issue as long as it's watchable and doesn't cost a ton of money. I will check it out on youtube but was hoping to have a copy to keep. I have a fairly large collection of 80's movies but there are a few not released on dvd that I would love to get copies of somehow. This one and Willy/Milly are on the top of that list at the moment.

Muffy.. thanks for logging in long enough to post that valuable information for Tiffany.

I will say that having an iPhone has made it extremely easy to hangout on The Rewind. I even made it an App ..

Tiffany.. did you check out the link I sent you?

Posted by Tiffany (Member # 9077) on :

Valley, I did check out that link. I may have to go that route because I don't see any other options. Thanks for the info

Drawn like a bee to honey [Smile]

Pssst: ioffer

Posted by Tiffany (Member # 9077) on :

Checked out ioffer and the only sell just ships to the US. It's hard to find any for sale that will ship to Canada. The good news is that I did manage to watch it on youtube last night, which wasn't a horrible copy. Now I love it and need to have it...so I'm back to square one.

Tiffany..

Do a search on the link I sent you.. there was someone selling an all region DVD of it.. not sure if they will ship to Canada or not.

Did you ask the guy from my original link if he would ship to you? For the shipping cost he was asking for.. he should hand deliver it to you!

If you log-in there is a place you can send messages without a commitment to purchase.

i have a copy on vhs in great condition. [Smile]
i only own a couple of movies that were "transferred." i'm not a big fan of them, i guess.

i have never seen this movie played on any cable channels since i was little? i wish it would air on TNT/TBS, or something!

not only is it an awesome movie but had great music in it as well.

one of my favorite 80's love songs, Slave To Love by Bryan Ferry...

and Wild Blue's Fire With Fire, same name title, played both at the dance and again for the ending credits. [Smile]
never knew there was an actual video for that song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGpO-2gr6PU

now this movie is where i really liked madsen. [Big Grin]

Ronnie you're just throwing that in my face aren't you, I'm so jealous lol. I'm thinking that I may have to search out an old VCR just so I can own some of these hard to find movies.

Ronnie, I agree, the music is great! "Slave to Love" is on my iPod and I listen to it ALOT! I like how Prince's "Computer Blue" is used during the dance!!

Do you by any chance have "In It For Love?" I'm not sure who sings it or if I even got the title right but do you know the song I'm talking about here? I need it!!

P.S. Great kissing/make out scene when Joe sneaks in to see Lisa! Wow!

tiffany, i actually paid a pretty penny for that vhs copy haha. and because of these out of print movies that the dvd gods refuse to release on dvd, i have always owned a vcr. it's been just as necessary as any dvd player i have. [Smile]
but perhaps valley's suggestion will lead to you owning a copy on dvd. doesn't hurt to ask!

cindy, i love that song, 'i'm in it for love'...james house sings it. i'm sending your a pm right now. [Smile]

80's Rocked has some music files form the movie including "In it for Love"-I can forward it to you. They did the synopsis for it here on fast rewind too:

http://www.fast-rewind.com/fire_with_fire.htm

That movie brought me here too originally. I have fan pages on facebook and myspace. I joined forces with someone who had an incredible collection of memorabilia [Smile]

One of us will help you get it-I'm sure!

Bamersy let me know if you come across any copies that are available in Canada.

This sounds like a job for Riptide .. who surely has a copy of "Fire With Fire"

Is it really a good idea to take boys from a parol camp to see "Friday The 13th: Part V" at the movies?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

"Are you studying to be a crook?"

The dance scenes are by far my fav parts of the movie and as Ronnie mentioned the tune "Slave To Love" by Bryan Ferry is just incredible in this flick.

The real question is where did thoses nuns get such awesome tunes for the dance?

This movie has intense chemistry between Lisa and Joe..

Posted by Bamersy (Member # 8808) on :

It's the combo of passion and gentleness that does it for me. The way Lisa slides her hand into Joe’s hair. How she kisses Joe’s hand as she gives him flowers in the cemetery.....

The romance is believable. You see why the leads would fall for each other and buy it completely. Many films fall flat when trying to make a romance both powerful and believable. Add to that some great tunes and you've got a classic.

Don't know if this is new or not-but FWF is currently available streaming online on Netflix!

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Thanks Bamersy.. I have it on my list. I only have an old VHS tape, so this is good news for me. When are you planning on watching it again?

Posted by Bamersy (Member # 8808) on :

I'll probably check it out in the next coupla days-just to see how it compares to what I've got. Just got a new router so things are more streamlined. Watched Valhalla Rising tonight-interesting, but have no idea what it was about. [Confused]

I'm going to give it a watch on Netflix the copy I have is crappy and I couldn't get into it because of that.........so i'll let you guys know what I think [Smile]

Bamersy, thank you so much for the heads up! I haven't seen this since it last aired on HBO probably 10 years ago. Can't wait to watch it! Thank God for netflix [Smile]

[Smile] I've been on a mission of sorts to watch all Craig Sheffer movies (even the crappy ones of which there are quite a few!) and happened to notice the "play" option under FWF!

Posted by Secret Admirer (Member # 3574) on :

Where have you guys been? This happened last month! And you call yourselves Sheff Heads [Razz]

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

What's even funnier is this morning I went to Netflix and put FWF in my queue and automatically went "grrrr Craig Sheffer" and searched his movies....already had NightBreed in my queue! haha

I'm right there with ya Bamersy [Smile]

FWF got on my radar again right before I found the Rewind. I have a good VHS-other than waiting for a true DVD release, I never thought to look it up on Netflix. It's pretty cool they run OOP movies-I wonder if it helps gauge interest?

Muffy-I saw Nightbreed in the theater. The guy with the Jay Leno/moon head didn't work for me, but picturing a young, good looking Craig when I later read the book did [Wink]

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

I've never seen it Bamersy.....are you telling me to skip it?

I really love that Netflix has some unknown OOP's in instant watch....I actually "saved" Date With an Angel and it showed up in instant watch a week later!! maybe the key is saving stuff your interested in?

Posted by Bamersy (Member # 8808) on :

I remember liking it-enough to later read the book, the moon face was just too phony though. From what I understand, there was a lot of conflicts during the filming between Clive Barker and the film studio, and a lot of footage was cut.

I've had an OOP Craig movie saved for a long time that's supposed to be available at the end of the month-Blue Desert. I also had Timerider-The Adventures of Lyle Swann saved and it's now available too.

Hey Muffy and Bamersy.. while we're discussing Craig's List.. did either of you know that Craig Sheffer voiced Mick in the "Teen Wolf" cartoon series? I heard that he used it as training for Hardy Jenns in "Some Kind of Wonderful".. I watched it on Saturday mornings, but had no clue at the time that Sheffer was the voice.

Ooooh, I gots to get my Netflix streaming!! Can't wait to see this in clear form! My VHS is shot [Frown] ...
