I am so loving that the Oscars are paying tribute to our hero. I had no idea that they were going to do this. So many great films, can't believe he is gone.

Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy looked drugged out!

I thought it was a great tribute.. Judd Nelson actually looked better than he did just a few years ago. Broderick, Cryer, and Ringwald were outstanding.

i wasn't crazy about the tribute for some reason, but glad they acknowledged hughes.

Would have been nice to have had at least one member of the Candy family there as well; other than that, I really have no complaints. Next step, how about a lifetime acheivement reward? Not necessarily right away, mind you, but eventually would be nice.

I agree with Rip - the tribute seemed odd to me. The Hughes movies were the antithesis of what the Academy is about. I was glad to see it, even though it felt awkward (as these things usually do).

It was interesting to note that Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were hosting, and both of them had been in a Hughes movie.

Making it thus a little surprising they didn't choose to come out as well to offer their thoughts. Oh well, at least we can say they were there.
