Anyone remember this film starring Ally Sheedy? I remember I liked it when it came out. It was cute. I haven't seen it for years and have been having a hard time trying to find it on DVD. I know Amazon has it but a decent copy is too expensive.

Anyway, it's a fun movie about a rich girl who feels that money is no object. She is very unlikeable at first. Then she wakes up one morning in jail or something (if I remember correctly) nad no one seems to remember who she is, not even her own family.

She has a "fairy god mother" played by Beverly D'Angelo who is trying to teach her to be a better person etc... Anyway I think it is a cute film and I dont wanna give away anymore info for those who have not seen it yet. So if you find a cheap copy that is decent , let me know!

Hey Ali! I recently got to see "Maid To Order" on Encore's Big 80's weekend for the first time in years. The story was like Cinderella in reverse and very cute. Ally Sheedy was great as the spoiled brat in the beginning.

Thanks for reminding me about Maid to Order. I haven't seen that since it was originally out. I'm definitely going to have to pick it up and ride the nostalgia train.

it's a charming movie that i have always loved. and i got to watch it with my daughter who liked it too. she even watched it a second time this evening!

i like the wild outfits that the starkey's (the rich couple) wear throughout the movie.

i also like seeing tom skerritt in it and beverly d'angelo as the fairy god mother.

Ronnie .. sweet vintage movie poster.

This is a very cute movie and Ali Sheedy is great in it. Most people think of Ali Sheedy with respect to her role in "The Breakfast Club", but for me it is "WarGames" and then probably this movie. She was uniquely excellent in TBC, but she was incredible in "WarGames" in my opinion.

I love this movie! Ally Sheedy is awesome in it, and Beverly D'Angelo had some great lines in it too. Plus, there's an awesome fictional 80's band in it with a cool name which is escaping me right now.... I'll have to watch this on netflix before it goes away...this movie is out of print and pretty hard to find.

Veronica.. I think they were called.. The Loaded Blanks.. way better name than 'Diaper Rash' from "Hard Bodies". [Wink]

How incredible is Merry Clayton as Audrey James? Her singing was impressive, but I totally enjoyed her character too. I was amazed to find out that she did the tune "Gimme Shelter" with The Rolling Stones.

Also, thought it was cool that Rain Phoenix (sister to River & Joaquin) played the daughter of the Starkeys. She can be found in on of Muffy's Amazing Stories episodes too.

Finally.. never knew this until now, but Leland Crooke who played Dude for The Loaded Blanks was the hilarious guy from Catfight in "My Chauffeur".

OMG, that's right Valley!! I totally forgot about Cat Fight's appearance in this movie...Was he like the "go to" actor for playing weird British rock stars in the 80's? haha...I think I will watch this one tonight.

I like this movie. There's a few good characters that help keep things going. I've been on a Ally Sheedy kick as of late.

Just watched Maid to Order and i liked it very much.
A heartwarming comedy with a great cast.

Ally Sheedy - a spoiled brat learned her lesson.
Michael Ontkean - solid stuff (and no earring [Smile] )
Tom Skerritt - you can always count on him.
Beverly D'Angelo - the fairy (wicked witch!)
Valerie Perrine and **** Shawn - loved the outfits!
Begonya Plaza - so beautiful.
Merry Clayton - the maid mentor, and she can sing.

It was also nice to see Kimberly Beck, Katey Sagal, Raymond Cruz and Khandi Alexander in small roles.

The band "Loaded Blanks" was actually the classic 80s hard rock band Great White.
I recognized the guys right away [Smile]

Lots of music, two montages, interesting characters and great fashion.
Recommended!
