Do we have any Jackie Chan fans in the house?

I've been a big fan of his ever since seeing 'Project A' when I was about 8 years old.

I know some people seem to think he became a big star after making 'Rush Hour' - this might be the case for America, but over here, he was already extremely well known.

So, for anybody that remembers his 70/80s stuff, what were your favourites?

Top 3:

1) Project A: Classic Fight Scene

2) Dragons Forever: Jackie Chan v Benny "The Jet" Urquidez

3) Police Story: Mall Fight

When i was a kid, i saw two Jackie flicks
and right away this man became a legend in my eyes.

Those films were Snake in the Eagle's Shadow (1978) and Drunken Master (1978)

I also love Jackie. It amazes me how he does all his own stunts. Didn't he break his foot in the making Of "Rumble?" I think it was that one....anyway, he had a special cast made to look like a sneaker and he continued doing all his own stunts to complete the movie! Gotta respect that.

Kudos to you J2ME I was just about post this topic after my Ninja thread. Spooky.

Love Jackie Chan, I remember when I first saw Police Story 2 on VHS and it was, without a doubt, one of the greatest cinematic discoveries of my young life. I enjoyed Rush Hour 1 & 2 didn't care much for his other Hollywood pictures. Asia will always be where Jackie Chan proves why he's a living legend: its difficult to replicate the Asian style as their creatively, theatrics and commitment to perform stunts to within an inch of their lives is unparalleled. Hollywood tends to water it down to a point where die hard fans simply aren't interested anymore: I'd never have imagined missing the chance to see Jet Li & Jackie in the same film, and yet Forbidden Kingdom came and went and remains unseen. Heres hoping he does more movies back East. Long live Jackie Chan!

Favourites include Police story 2 & 3, I take my hat off to Maggie Chung too, she took some hard knocks in this saga. Dragons Forever, Thunderbolt (underrated Chan flick), Twin Dragons and New Police Story (nothing to do with the old Police Story)

Watch the classic, kick *** Police Story theme song (belted out by JC himself no less): sing along if you know the words!

I couldn't agree more with regards Maggie Cheung, she was a pivotal cog in many of chan's films. I forgot to mention Sammo Hung & Yuen Biao in my previous post -- both were as athletic and theatrical as Jackie.

They really complemented each other.

I've never seen 'New Police Story' so I'll have to keep an eye out for that.
