Ok this is one of those impossible picks threads. But if you could only pick one John Hughes film that was released in the 80's....which one would you keep. Remember only One!

3. Sixteen Candles (1984)

4. The Breakfast Club (1985)

5. European Vacation (1985)

6. Weird Science (1985)

7. Pretty in Pink (1986)

8. Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

9. Some Kind of Wonderful (1987)

10. Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)

11. She's Having a Baby (1988)

12. The Great Outdoors (1988)

13. Uncle Buck (1989)

14. Christmas Vacation (1989)

"Muffy, relax, would you? We have seventy dollars and a pair of girls underpants. We're safe as kittens."

Well it is by no means an easy choice for me, but if I had to pick only one John Hughes 80's movie it would be "Sixteen Candles".

It was a quote fiesta in my opinion.

To prove just how great all these movies are and how tough this thread is, 9 out of the 14 movies listed got at least 1 vote already.

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles just for the scene where Steve Martin says the f-word at least 30 times at the receptionist after being ditched by the car company. Priceless.

I'd pick Mr. Mom. I love that movie, it was the first John Hughes movie I ever saw too, and I just love everything about it. It is really nostalgic to me. My brother and I use to watch it on HBO all the time. I never get sick of it.

OK. I've got it!!! Each of us pick one and we can share all of them!!!

So I have foiled your evil plan Valley! But I feel compelled to mention to you, Jake, er, ah, I mean Valley, that if all you want of the girl, ah I mean the rewind crew, is a piece of @ss, or some silly movie list I mean, I'll either do it myself, or get someone bigger than me to kick your @ss. I mean, not many girls or rewinders in contemporary American society today would give their underwear to help a geek like me or you. [Big Grin]

Somehow, I just knew Paul was going to pick "Some Kind of Wonderful". [Razz]

Oh and Jessie never voted, but it will be "Sixteen Candles" according to Doc Brown's latest invention.

From the teen movies, 'Pretty in Pink'. From the rest, 'Vacation'. Is that cheating? I find it hard to compare the two groups of movies.

One of my favorite lines from "Vacation"... Brian Doyle-Murray has really had some nice scene-stealing parts. He was hilarious in Chris Elliott's short-lived, but brilliant, TV series "Get a Life," as a cop who loses his job for urinating on his boss.
