Okay so this isn't one that I have ever even heard of and I must say looks pretty ridiculous. I never knew that Catherine Mary Stewart did a musical. Has anyone seen this???

Devolution here,

Never, and it didn't look like something for my list of things to watch.

WE are DEVO

This thing has been on DVD for 4 years??? How could it rate a release versus The Legend of Billie Jean and others that we love so much.

Gosh, I didn't know this movie existed, either! Catherine Mary Stewart...was she the blonde in Fried Green Tomatoes?

I believe she was the original Kayla Brady on Days of Our Lives

Sammy you are right she was the original Kayla Brady but Petty she wasn't in Fried Green Tomatoes. The blonde was Mary Stuart Masterson. I am absolutely in shock about this one, I had no idea that "The Apple" even existed. Well it is true you do learn something new every day [Cool]

Well, i've watched The Apple (1980) this morning...

Imagine a remake of Russ Meyer's Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls with a science-fiction twist,
and you can't be too far off.

Catherine Mary Stewart looks great, but besides singing two or three songs she has very little to do.
She is top-billed in the credits, but besides the songs, she barely has twenty lines of dialogue.
There's a whole bunch of actors and actresses whose careers didn't come off the ground after appearing in this one.
The most familiar face here is Joss Ackland from Lethal Weapon 2 ('diplomatic immunity!'), and
musician George S. Clinton can be seen in a small supporting role as a reporter.

The climax is a blast : A showdown between God and the devil that is over before anything really happens..
oh, besides the fact that God takes a whole hippie-commune to another planet to start all over again.
I have to admit, i didn't see that coming ! [Big Grin]

Funny detail : The car in which the big-shot record producer gets driven around, is very similar to
the one Michael Sopkiw drives at the end of 2019 After The Fall Of New York. Yes, it's an old-fashioned
station-wagon with some extra lights and oversized spoilers to make it look futuristic.

The Apple was directed by one of the head honchos of The Cannon Group, Menahem Golan.
Shortly after directing The Apple he went on to do Enter The Ninja, Over The Top, and The Delta Force.

yes The Apple is a perfect 5/5 film.

Catherine Mary Stewart is not the one singing on the songs unfortunately. She was deemed not a good enough singer to pull it off.

This is available on netflix instant watch for those who have it available.

Do the Apple, yeah!

Here is a professional podcast that has interviews with Menahem Golan, Coby Recht, Iris Yotvat, Joss Ackland, George S. Clinton, & Catherine Mary Stewart.
