Devolution here,

Not Richard Pryor's best, but I did see it in the movies. I do also own the DVD, but it is worth the 2 hours to watch it, anything from the 80's with John Candy is good. I think that's the rule to live by forever.

Honestly, what's the worst 80's John Candy movie?

Very hard to answer, because every film has at least
couple of good scenes.

Iīm thinking that itīs gotta be Volunteers or The Great Outdoors.
Last time i watched TGO, i donīt know,
it just wasnīt so good anymore...

OMG Atomik are you serious??? The Great Outdoors is still one of my favorites!!!! every little bit of it.

I can name many worst 90's movies from John Candy haha but definitely no 80's ones.......I even liked Who's Harry Crumb.......Nothing but Trouble from him (90's) sucked...haha

my favs........Spaceballs!! Summer Rental, Uncle Buck! [Smile]

and I have not seen Brewsters do I need too for sure?

Oh certainly see it. Sure, it might have been better if he rather than Pryor had been the lead, but it doesn't diminish anything.

Worst? Probably it would have to be Speed Zone (!), which was clearly thrown together at the last minute even though it was clear the Cannonball Run series was dead and buried, and where they give him nothing to do but wave at the camera. The only other 80s film that fails even with him would be Going Berserk--but in that case the answer is clear: he'd signed up for an earlier, better draft that was reworked afterwards without his input, and his frustration at this is quite visible throughout (although a few parts still try and rise above it, such as the Kung Fu U. footage). In the 90s, only Once Upon a Crime and Hostage for a Day fail, probably because he was starting to get burned out by that time. Still, all in all, you can't argue you had a pretty strong batting average all in all.

Muffster, "Brewster's Millions" is more of a Richard Pryor movie, but definitely worth an 80's fan's attention. I wish I had Brewster's problem where everything I invested in turned to gold. I must have gotten in on the iceberg futures market a bit late it seems.

My favorite John Candy movies are "Uncle Buck" and "Stripes".

I haven't seen enough John Candy movies to comment on his worst...I've been meaning to check a few out....I have seen some of his most popular ones; Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors, etc....and like those. I really like Brewsters Millions, so "YES" Muffy, you really must see this one. Cheers!

Havenīt seen the Speed Zone.

Muffy, donīt get mad at me [Smile]
Itīs hard to pick the worst one,
if all the stuff is good.

Just recently watched these and liked them
more than TGO:

Blues Brothers
Splash
Brewsterīs Millions
Planes, trains...
Spaceballs

I love Brustewr millions. Jhon Candy is ace and the director John Huges is brilant at making movies that everyone can watch - for all the family. Uncle buck is really good and so is Planes Trains and Auto Mobiles. I love Home alone. But I am not as keen on Space Balls, or the Great Outdoors. Splash is brillant!!! Tom HAnks makes that film.

Blues brothers is brillant to, because I love Dan Ackroyd.

Devolution here,

Lots of people never saw it. Wow, I mean it's not the best movie ever but Pryor and Candy usually put the butts in the seats.

We are DEVO

I recall it being a pretty big hit when it came out. I'm surprised so many people have missed it! It was certainly a 'must rent' when it came out on video.

Haven't seen this film for years but really enjoyed it as a kid and watched it loads of times.Loved the scene where they are playing Baseball and the train goes through the outfield.
