Not to be confused in anyway with my all-time fav, but I caught this flick on late night MGMHD and it was totally 80's. This movie reminds of something that Cindy Mancini would find in the bargain bin and ask us about.

Basically, it's about a girl who aspires to be a singer and to make ends meet she gets a semi-sleazy job with her best friend as valet parking girls at a Malibu party. It did have John Terlesky in it from the movies "Chopping Mall" and "The Allnighter".... I think we just lost Cindy to ebay..ha

Has anyone seen it? It is by no means a great or even good movie, but if you're like me and enjoy finding 80's movies you haven't seen yet, this might be worth a watch for you.

Hahahahaha...OMG, Valley, you so know me!!

Funny story...I was actually out shopping at a used cd/dvd/vhs store a few years back with my friend Greg and he found the gem you are referring to above, as well as a movie called Beverly Hills Brats.

I remember the box. Valet Girls looked right up my alley. Pure 80's cheese. I somehow never got around to watching it but now I am going to make a point to see it so we can discuss it here in this lovely forum.

Oh and you mentioned John Terlesky being in it...was he the guy Hoffs wanted in The Allnighter? If so, I'm def watching this...he was hawt!! [Wink]

Hilarious...see, Cindy already owns it. Please don't get your hopes up, it is a total cheese ball comedy in the realm of Johnny Depp's "Private Resort" to name one.

However, the lead actresses, though this movie probably destroyed their careers, are quite entertaining. I will say Meri Marshall that plays Lucy is an excellent singer and the fashion is 80's awesome.

Remember this guy?

Whoa...that's the dude...the hot surfer dude, CJ. I was so jealous of Susanna. I want him to come over to my cabana for a fiesta!!!

Wonder what he looks like now...

Ooh, Private Resort was bad. I hated it. I'm still holding out hope for Valet Girls.

ha...time to cancel the movie party...I actually enjoyed it more than Private Resort, but it is unfortunately in that arena of comedy. Please watch it soon and give me your take.

Wow Valley...Is there ANY 80's movie you have not seen? You're like an encyclopedia. Very impressive.

Thanks for the compliment 80'sRocked, but this site is loaded with knowledgeable 80's movies gurus. Though Devo and I will always be in a race to identify the 90's flick "Career Opportunities" for people.

Most of you only know the married and more tamed Devo, some of us still have nightmares about the wild uncaged beast of the past. ha

Devolution here,

Na, not really that tame, but as long as things are going ok around here, I don't need to get crazy. No one has said anything that has caused a riot in a long time.

Long live please don't feed the DEVO.

We are DEVO

Devo,

After over 3,000 postings, 'Please Don't Feed the Devo' might still rank as one of my best. Totally cracks me up.

Stay true to the beast within my friend

I never saw Valet Girls either....that dude is hot...fer shur...he looks like Ken Olandt a little bit....I wanna see it now too.
Cindy- wait for me...

Don't waste your time on Beverly Hills Brats-I couldn't get through it, it was lame.

Mentioned in the just watched section.

When I was younger I used to watch Private Resort all the time and loved it. Johhny Depp, Rob Morrow, Hector Elizondo, Leslie Easterbrook, Michael Bowen, Dody Goodman, and my personal favorite the "Diceman" Andrew Dice Clay. I liked Vslet Girls as well but it wasn't in the same league as Private Resort, in my opinion.

Never saw this one obviously. I do recognize that dude in the picture from The Allnighter. Is this worth buying?

Don't start talking crazy now. [Razz] If you find it for a total bargain and want to say that you've seen it, then....maybe, but otherwise I'd just ask Cindy Mancini for her copy when she's done. [Big Grin]

Thanks for the tip Valley.

Cindy Mancini? She must still be washing her hair or out of the country. No sign of her in ages. [Wink]

I already mentioned this movie in the Last Movie you watched... thread.
Pure 80's cheese, but it was cute and the girls were pretty. I wonder what ever happened to the two lead role chicks? I know I read somewhere that the one girl had a record contract, but she never had a hit.

Amazon has the VHS starting at 94 cents...

Pittsburghgirl, the reason I bumped this thread back up was your mentioning of this movie. I wonder the same thing about the two lead actresses when I watched it. I can't believe they didn't get any other chances to make movies....I liked both of their personalities.

Anyone notice Stuart Fratkin as Dash from 80's movies like Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Teen Wolf Too, and Under the Boardwalk. Though he is probably mostly recognized from the flick "Ski School".

Haha.. I looked up all the threads on this movie and the two titled "Valley Girl or Valet Girls" cracked me up.

I wouldn't think to compare the two movies other than the for the titles!

I watched Valet Girls recently and I actually thought it was a fun 80s cheese fest!
It totally kept me entertained.. the parties, the romping haha, the music, the fashion...everything us rewinders look for in 80s fun.

I loved the character Lucy, played by Meri D. Marshall. I thought she was pretty cool and I ended up downloading her 1985 album, "My Obession."

The title track MY OBSESSION is awesome!

[Cool]

Ha! Welcome, aTomiK.. try to check it out soon, if you can. [Smile]

Ronnie .. not what I expected at first after clicking on your "MY OBSESSION" link. But seeing that 80's style video and listening to the lyrics were totally cool. [Cool]

I need to watch "Valet Girls" again .. it was a fun movie, just not a regular rotation type of film. The tunes and fashion were killer though.

Watched Valet Girls (1987) last night.

What a crazy, crazy film directed by Rafal Zielinski. The whole movie is just one big party [Smile]

I donīt think that i REALLY liked any of the characters but at least the girls were energetic.
Loved the fashion and the soundtrack was very cool. Lots of Meri D. Marshall songs and other feelgood disco/pop tunes.
It was also nice to see Elizabeth Lamers performing, i loved her tunes also in Club Life / King of the City
Steven Lyon, the calendar boy from Campus Man, was also present and even legendary Ron Jeremy was invited [Big Grin]

We all know that producers/business moguls are BAD people [Big Grin] They make lots of jokes with those guys here.
So, donīt try to find any deeper meanings from this romp, if you count out the basic 80s message: trust yourself and good things will happen.
Itīs just silly and harmless fun and it couldnīt be a Zielinski film without few unnecessary T&A shots [Big Grin]
