I love how easy it is to order DVDs off the link on here on the Movie Smart Menu....

since I haven't been around in awhile...I saw more movies that were added...that I had to get...

I have never seen any of these...and wondered what others thought of them.

The Mean Season

Brotherhood of Justice

The House by the Cemetary

I also bought...Flowers in the Attic and 10 to Midnight.

I am excited to have found some movies to watch over the summer that I haven't seen before.

I loved staying up all night in the summer in the 80s and watching HBO all night, or going to the Video Stores to rent movies...that was so much fun.

ISIS,

I used to do the same thing during the summer. I also used to love cruising down by the beach. Ahhh, the 80s... [Smile]

jdocster04- Your lucky to have had a beach....I went "cruising" too...no beach...but we had a blast...I loved Friday and Saturday nights in my little hometown...everyone knew each other...we car hopped...and jumped in different people's cars and rode around, then we'd walk around town for awhile. I miss "downtowns" like the one I grew up in...where all the stores were family owned, and there were "department stores".

I loved riding my bike down town and going to the Arcade.

We could spend all day long...riding our bikes, playing pacman, going for an ice cream cone, and hanging at the playground.

I read the book Flowers in the Attic....and I swear I might have seen the movie...but I can't remember it.

Does anyone else remember the movie "Deadly Friend"....I think Kristy Swanson is in both of those.

Deadly Friend did indeed have Kristy Swanson along with Matthew Labourteaux who played Albert on Little House on the Prarie

Just watched The Mean Season. Very good thriller.
Russell and Hemingway shine.

10 to Midnight in quite dark and bloody but i loved it.
I recall that the music was good (as it was usually in Cannon films) and the 80´s feeling is just perfect.

Hey Isis, what did you think of the cold war, post-nuclear sci-fi "Retro Assistant" that is on the site these days for people to buy stuff? I know some people like it, but it was a lot of work and I'm not sure that the format of it appeals to many people...

Nick....I didn't even see that until you mentioned it . Before I came back to the message board, I had gone on to the main page to look and see if any new movies had been added....and I just started clicking on the titles of movies I never remembered seeing ever...then I saw how easy it was to buy movies, and I have to say that every movie I bought on DVD was under $10. I couldn't believe how cheap alot of DVDs have become. I hadn't had time yet to keep looking.....but I just now clicked on a few movies and saw what you mean, and that is an awesome feature....I am going to have to check every movie out that is in my favorites to see what kind of stuff I can find related to the movie...that's totally cool that it links you up to posters and other memorbillia....because if you are a major fan of a certain movie, that makes it really easy to go find stuff on your own personal favs.

The Rewind definately has some cool new features.

ISIS,

I do miss the beach (I live in Missouri now)and all of the fun. It sounds like we experienced much of the same things i.e. riding our bikes, playing pacman, going for an ice cream cone, the family owned stores downtown... It really does make you sad to see most of it gone now. I know people who have purposely moved to smaller towns for this exact reason. They can still be found. To bad the 80s are gone forever though... [Frown]

On another note, 10 to midnight and the mean season are good movies...

Nick,

I too think the "Retro Assistant" is very slick indeed... [Smile]

jdocster04- I have seen 10 to Midnight- a bunch...infact I watched it a couple weeks ago, it's the only one that I had seen already, but I didn't own it on DVD yet....and for around $10 including the shipping... how can you beat that.

I do still live in a small town....but not the one I grew up in-but I am actually headed there tomorrow-I haven't been there in over 6 months...it is totally different now though...not the same...different people...the cool hang out places are gone, the cool down town shops have been replaced by a McDonalds...
the big Department store that I loved to hang in..is sitting empty. Last summer I went with my brother to the place we use to play all the time...it was in the woods....it was so weird to go there, and look at trees I remember climbing.
I loved being a teen in the 80's. It was the best time ever, I absolutely hate how fast life keeps moving on. I am not big on change.

ISIS,

Every time I go back home something is either changed or gone. It's depressing. When i was a kid we used to drive up the Maine to see my Grandmother and family. I asked my mom what it was like coming back home after being gone for so long. She said every 20 years the landscape changes, and, every time she went home it looked different to her. I guess that's progress... What I really hate is that all of the malls are closing. Everyone used to hang out at shopping malls and now they are going away never to return. It's just sad...
