I read this weekend that they are remaking Adventures In Babysitting. I forgot who the girl is they said was going to be in it. My question is... WHY? Why butcher another '80s classic? I can't stand all these remakes. I guess they'll be remaking Ferris Bueller and the Breakfast Club next.
I can see it now... Frankie Muniz starring as Ferris.
Why can't this generation just make new shows. New characters. New movies. Nobody has any originality any more. They have to rip off material from the '70s & '80s and then, because they weren't even around back then, they don't "get it" what those decades were about and they try to rehash these gems into something void of that '80s charm.

I know!! I say this all the time, and I get slammed constantly for it, but what your saying Bro...is exactly what the truth of it is.

Every time I see a new 80's movie I have never seen...like Summer School, Fire with Fire, Streets of Fire...and I love them...I think wow...that was a good movie...and alot of them are teen movies, but they all are unique...they don't feel like they were rip off of each other...even Hardbodies and Hot Moves were similiar...but I didn't feel like I was watching the same movie. There are so many 80's movies that were so good...like the movie Angel...and 10 to Midnight...those were gritty...but the cast of people and the story line and everything have to all connect....and what it is about new movies...is it isn't like they can't come up with new ideas...cause I personally think of stuff every day that would make a cool movie...so I think how come nobody has any idea any more of how to just make a movie that has a storyline to it? That fits with today's stuff.

It is a combination of everything...it is the way society is ...and the type of movies people have been watching for years...they don't know what a good movie is any more, and so the studios keep making junk.... I said this on another thread...that you can see the decline of movies...every year since the end of the 80's...to where we are now.

The other night...the movie "Absence of Malice" was on....I have never seen it...my mom told me it was good, now I wanna see it...there's tons of movies like that from the 80's...I never saw...and am so glad I still can find them.

I hate the remakes so much. They will have remade everything and then what?? Remake a Remake...

I hate remakes but it never stops me from going to see them. Most of the time it is out of curiosity and sometimes I even like them. I just dont see how they can make AIB better than they already did.

We've got 2 threads about this - one here and one in the Social Club. Because we're talking about new movies, I'm moving this one to the Social Club, where it will be locked. Please go there to continue discussions.
