On Saturday Night April 1st, several of us are planning on watching "April Fool's Day". This is my advance warning to give everyone an opportunity to seek out this brilliant film. I only watch this movie twice a year, on April Fool's Day and sometime near Halloween.

This movie is an awesome late night movie treat if you've never seen it. Movie watching is subjective, so I won't offer a Money Back Guarantee ...I'll let Isis do that instead. [Razz]

April Fool's Day has one of my favorite cast with Deborah Foreman, Amy Steel, Ken Olandt, Deborah Goodrich, and Clayton Rohner.

See you at the movies...and that's no April Fool.

That day is my Open House for the Grand Opening of my Bed N Breakfast. I thought it was the perfect day for it. My friends will all be here that day to help with the open house, and my one girlfriend is spending the night, and we will watch it, I have made her watch it before, but she liked it.

It is in my top 3 all time favorite movies. I love it so much.

I made an entire quilt watching it when I first bought it on VHS, which was about 4 1/2 years ago. I loved it the first time I saw it, and I watched it over and over after that.

I love the cast! Deborah Foreman is awesome in it. But, I have always loved Amy Steel from Friday the 13th part 2, and Ken Olandt is gorgeous, and Clayton Rohner is hysterical, and Deborah Goodrich is pretty cool too. I love everyone in it.

I love the idea of spending a weekend on an island with your friends in a big old house, hanging out and having fun.

It totally puts me in the mood for spring.

I am so glad tomorrow is the 1st of March, we only have 1 month to go- 3 weeks to actual spring. I am counting the days!

I love the cover art for the movie...check out that french braiding!!

This is a reminder to find your copy of "April Fool's Day" to watch this Saturday night April 1st.

My plan is start watching it about 10pm or so, the later the better ya know. So if you go out Saturday night try to remember to watch it when you get home.

Guys, I bought it this morning after reading this post for a massive £4.50 [Eek!] [Big Grin] (I love the price of 80's movies)

So i'll be watching it on Saturday night. I haven't seen it before so it's gonna be cool [Big Grin]

STU-That is so awesome. I loved it the first time I saw it, I just think the cast is the best, I love all those actors in it. I liked it so much the first time, I turned around and watched it again. I never ever do that in one day...not watch the same movie.

AngelEyeZ- there is a cool review on the Rewind main page about it, they summerized it alot better than I ever could, without giving out too much of the movie, check it out.

I am so excited that so many people will be watching it. I love that!! I think it is awesome to watch a movie on the day the movie is based on, like watching Friday the 13th on friday the 13th...that makes it so much cooler. Or Halloween...on Halloween.

I looked for this in my collection and I don't have it [Eek!] . I guess I will have to go to best buy tonight or over to a warehouse music to see if they have it used.

Woooo !!!! my April Fools Day DVD came in the post this morning [Big Grin] I thought it wasn't gonna come.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Happy April Fool's Day Everyone! Stu, did you open the box to make sure it wasn't just an April Fool's joke? [Wink]

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Yeah, really that would suck if they "forgot" to put the movie in there.

I got my copy sitting right next to the tv, every time I have a specific movie I wanna watch...it takes me an hour to locate it, this time I made sure I was prepared.

With a haunting name like imawalkingcorpse, you should be able to scare up a copy by tonight! [Eek!]

I don't think I read that review the whole way through, I like the beginning part...until he added in some things I would have bleeped out, geez...I thought all the reviews were kid friendly?? I wouldn't have wanted my kid to have read a portion of that review.

I wanna know who the people are writing the reviews-I know they are regular 80's fans but they never come on the message boards hardly ever. It is a strange set up.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Well "April Fool's Day" is not a kid friendly movie, so the review just makes that extremely clear. [Razz]

Forget the review, my suggestion is... if you're old enough to watch R-rated movies, go out and get April Fool's Day for tonight!

got a hockey game to go to tonight so I'm going to have to cordially pass.

I actually thought when I took the wrapping off, that it would be funny if there was no disk in there [Big Grin]

But it is and i'm all set for tonight [Big Grin]

It's way cool that we are all gonna watch the same movie tonight.

Brilliant movie. Ordered my copy after seeing this post (thanks, it jogged my memory) and it arrived in time.

Well it's just gone half nine at night here in the UK, so i'm gonna get some food and drink ready and start watching it [Big Grin]

I watched it this afternoon! It's kind of gloomy here so it was perfect. I have to say I really enjoy this one, eventhough it's not that scary. Excellent cast!

I have to tell you all my entire April Fool's Day story...I thought I'd wait until I was more awake, but I can't believe Stu said about what if he opened the case and it not be in there.

Earlier before people started coming here for my Open House, I said to my friend..that we were watching it later, and for some unknown reason I opened the case cause we were just sitting around...I was thinking of course the movie was there...but it wasn't...so I thought CRIPES! Where could it be? I remembered when my Aunt was here in February we were going to watch it, but we didn't, cause she remembered I had made her watch it already. So, I figured I must have laid it somewhere...so I start looking all through all my DVDs, like inbetween all the cases, to see if the disc was laying in there. I couldn't find it, I started to panic... thinking...I told everyone else to watch it, and I can't find it...so inbetween when people would come here...I would go look some more for it...
I thought if all else fails I have a vhs copy...so I decided maybe it would be easier to find it...so I went looking even clear up to my attic, where I knew I had put it, cause of it being an extra copy, but I thought no way do I want to even attempt trying to locate it up there...so then I went back again and looked through the entertainment center for it...and I find The Cinncinnati Kid...the Steve McQueen movie I bought over a year and 1/2 ago(still in the plastic)...that I have been looking for all that time....cause I could never remember all this time where it was, and there it was in a drawer...so about that time...I am thinking it felt like some GOOF was playing some April Fool's joke on me.

So, I looked through every single DVD...and laying on top of a Breakdance DVD that some goof gave me for Xmas last year..I came across a DVD out of the case...and I thought whoa this is it...it has to be, it was the only loose DVD I came across...but it turned out to be a disc of Dallas...that Cindymancini had sent me back seperate from the others, and I mixed it in with my stuff...so I was thinking...man this feels like some crazy Rewind April Fool's joke....

So, by this time I am in to looking for that DVD for an hour, and I pick up the case for Fire with Fire...completely out of the blue, and I opened it, and inside it is the disc for April Fool's Day. It is the only case I opened to looking inside...I have no idea why. I couldn't believe it...but there it was, and the whole thing felt like this giant April Fool's joke, I was telling it to my friend as I was looking for it, and she couldn't believe it either. Talk about weird!! It is still freaking me out.

We just got done watching it.

WOAH !! that's really wierd ISIS, at least you found it in the end though [Big Grin]

I watched it and I thought it was AMAZING !!

Thanks for starting this post, otherwise I wouldn't of bought it for ages.

I still think it's way cool that we all watched the same movie at the same time.

April Fool's Day still rocks in my opinion! I love how the movie opens with the the little home video camera recording the begins of a college spring break. The more you watch it you realize that Deborah Foreman did such an outstanding job as Muffy/Buffy in this movie. Her role wasn't glamorous and it was definitely a bit spooky, but she nailed what the director was looking for in it. Amy Steel and Ken Olandt seemed to have great chemistry together. Deborah Goodrich as Naughty Nikki was awesomely teamed up again with Clayton Rohner as Chaz. Even Griffin O'Neal, who only one year later had to deal with accidently killing a friend, was excellent in his role as Skip. Spooky foreshadowing indeed.

April Fool Isis! Hilarious Story [Razz] [Big Grin]

Sam we said watch "April Fool's Day", not "Friday The 13th: Part 3", but that works because I've seen what you wear to hockey games before...ha. [Eek!]

STU-I am so glad you liked the movie. I think it is cool we all watched it, I think we did great with getting alot of people to watch it, a few other people I know who aren't on the Rewind, also watched it that night, so I think it was a cool thing.

Valley-I think Deborah Foreman did a great job in it too...I thought the acting in it was great, for the type of movie it was. I want it to be believable....I just watched a piece of Christmas with the Kranks again the other day, and the acting is so bad in that movie, it is so stupid...every line sounds like they are reading it...there's no emotion....I like movies that feel like that's exactly what that person would have said, and they know their lines so well that it just a regular conversation, that's what a movie should be.

We should try another movie night again soon.

Anyone have an idea for a movie???

Posted by stu1984 (Member # 3248) on :

ISIS, I think having Rewind movie nights would be cool !!

Whatever the movie is though, be sure to let me know like, a week in advance, so if I don't have the movie I can order it and get it delivered in time [Big Grin]

STU-Do you have Secret Admirer??? That's a good one.

I should go watch Mannequin, I saw you just watched it, I bought it on DVD...but I haven't even taken it out of the plastic yet, I should, cause it's been so long since I saw it, so I should watch it again. I remember seeing it at the movies.

No I haven't ISIS, but I have just read the page for it on here and it looks really good.

I'll buy it this weekend. I've limited myself to £15 worth of movies a week now, and i've spent that already. I can't help myself though, they are so cheap [Big Grin]

Who's watching this tonight?

Posted by TerdNthePoolGGB (Member # 9818) on :

I am. The local hockey team was on tv tonight so I watched it and I noticed we are getting free movie channels this weekend and one of the channels is playing a marathon of April Fools Day. Got lucky since I don't own it. Nice bunch of recognizable figures. I forgot the cast as I haven't seen it since the theater.

I had planned to...but just lost steam! *Poor planning as I was actually off work today! In the April Fools spirit...got my son pretty good this morning re: school morning routine. Nothing too creative or classic, but he left the house giggling from his toes. *Mustard on the sink Fawcett when he was brushing his teeth....ketchup on the door knob when he was leaving...and the semi-classic elastic on the sprayer at the kitchen sink (as I knew he'd have to wash off the ketchup!). Good times...

We just celebrated the 10th anniversary of our Bed and Breakfast, and we opened on April Fool's Day because of my love for this movie, and they did an article and interviews with the cast of the movie for their 30th anniversary, and Ken Olandt mentions me in the write up. I would post the link to it, but it has my real name in it, not that most people don't know what it is, but because I have had past issues with several rewinders I don't know that I want to deal with any of that stuff again. But, some guy who makes horror movies, read the article, and found me on Facebook, and now wants to call me tomorrow to interview me.

Congratulations!. The B&B looks amazing.

Thank you! It has been 14 years since I first came on the Rewind. Which is right around the time we moved to where we are now. It is crazy how the 80s only last 10 years, and it has been 14 years since I came on here and started talking about how much I missed that time period. This year is my 30th class reunion.
