You could pick one person off of the Rewind to sit down with and watch your favorite movie?

I know, I know, it would be hard to pick just one.

I would like to watch "Fire with Fire" with Riptide. He has just recently seen it and I think it would be cool to get to watch it and discuss favorite things about it.

Posted by annier (Member # 3305) on :

I would pick Noms is the word cause he loves drop dead fred and his fav 80's movie is trick or treat (good choice).

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Of course ya all know who'd I'd pick, if I could catch him...that is, he might be able to out run me....(maybe not- [Wink] ) I'd have to lasseo him like Dolly Parton does Dabney Coleman in 9 to 5...and then tie him to "something". Cause he'd be so freaked out. But, if I could have my way with him....Valley would be the one I would want to spend the entire night with, watching all our favorite movies. We'd start off with some Poppin and Lockin, with Breakin...then some Fire with Fire and a little April Fool's Day...and then we'd have this Climatic end to the evening with Valley Girl!

Wow....it sounds like a dream date!! If we started early enough we could squeeze some "Risky Buisness" in there some where too.
I don't know though about him....he probably couldn't handle that much excitement..we might have to change it to all horror instead and watch Friday the 13th part 2 and Prom Night and Halloween.

[Big Grin] [Eek!] [Big Grin]

Wow...just the thought of it!!!!..... [Smile] [Cool] [Eek!] [Big Grin]

Either "The Great Mouse Detective", "Purple Rain", or "Under The Cherry Moon" with ISIS. She would definifely love these movies... [Big Grin]

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Awe...Mouse Avenger...I'll definately watch Purple Rain with ya any day of the week. [Wink] [Big Grin] [Wink] [Smile]

I'd watch "Private School" with Isis...I know that she likes that movie. Of course, we like the movie for different reasons.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

Theoretically, would anybody want to watch a movie with me?

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

I'd definately watch it with ya John. I love watching movies over and over, and with people who like them, that's the funniest part, is knowing all the lines...I know you love Kathleen Wilholte...and she has a shirt on in that movie that say ROMAR trucking...ROMAR was the name of my Grandfather's business...so I always freak when I see her wearing that shirt.

What a great topic Jess. As for movies, it would be great to have an awesome day and night to go through watching stuff like Valley Girl, Sixteen Candles, Modern Girls, Making the Grade, Real Genius, the Sure Thing, Secret Admirer, Fast Times,Thrashin, The Wild Life, the Legend of Billie jean with the Sunflower Godess.

It would be great just to be around someone who has the same interests and can quote directly from the movies like I can.

Having a bunch of Rewinders in the same room would be awesome too. (Sigh) one can only dream.....

You can all come to my house.....I just can't tell my husband your all coming...he wasn't too thrilled the last time around, but maybe if he saw actual people this time...he'd think it was great.

I am so there!!!!

Posted by Stitch (Member # 2895) on :

John, I'd like to sit down with you and watch some Australian movies from the 80's -

Malcolm
Bliss
Crocodile Dundee
Footrot Flats (technically New Zealand)
Young Einstein

And some miniseries like "Bodyline", "Bangkok Hilton", "The private war of Lucinda Smith", "Cyclone Tracy" and more..

I'd love to sit down with anyone of you guys and see movies that never made it here, like "Valley Girl", "16 candles", "Pretty in pink" etc...

I would like to join Motleyrulz and Noms at a Motley Crue concert, preferably in the summer at an outdoor venue when the weather is nice and warm. We can tailgate before the show- I'll bring the beer- everyone else is in charge of the food!

Posted by Spooka Lupa (Member # 2700) on :

Muffy- Definitely Evil Dead, that sounds like the night to end all nights. Watch out for the Deadites!

(By the way, just finished reading Bruce Campbell's first book--Funny stuff! "Do you have KFCs in America?" "Yeah, it stands for Kentucky Fried Chicken.")

Eddie- Like Isis said, it'd be awesome to catch Little Monsters with you. [Wink] Chances are you're the one fan of the movie that lives closest to me anyway (no matter where you are).

I'd love to sit down with Isis and Valley (IF they let me join their private party, that is... [Big Grin] [Wink] ) and watch Valley Girl.
I've never seen it, and I think it would just be so cool to watch it for the first time with you guys!

Sounds great! How bout a Motley Crue show AND Ozzfest? The steaks are on me. I heard Ozzy won't be at every show this year though...

Toni-for you...I'd shove Goofboy on the floor... [Wink] [Big Grin] [Wink] [Razz]

I can't believe how many people have not seen Valley Girl. It played so much in the 80's on HBO, it was on constantly with The Last American Virgin and Fast Times.

Toni-does your DVD player play multi region DVDs??

Cause if so....I will send you Valley Girl!!

To Be HONEST..i would just love to be able to sit down and watch Valley Girl with someone that enjoys the movie just as much as i do [Frown]

Open Air Concerts and Trick or Treat on DVD..? My kinda people!

However, forget Ozzfest and Motley Crue, you guys need to get over here for the 5 day extravaganza that is the DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL!!!

I'll even rustle up the food on the old camping stove for a real treat!!!

Noms [Cool]

Devolution here,

Good topic. I like a lot of odd movies, so there are a few people that like the same odd movies that I do. Decisions... Decisions.

We are DEVO

I've heard alotta good things about Download. Didn't they do some sort of combination show last year with Ozzfest or is that another big festival I am thinking about?

Yes, what is this Download Fest and where is it held? I heard they're having a metalfest in Germany, I think in June, with some great old bands, one of which is Whitesnake. I'll bring the beer, Noms can bring the steaks, and Motleyrulz can bring the steak sauce and chips!

We did not have HBO or any of those pay channels when I was growing up- we were lucky to have the cable! My dad had it shut off when I went to college. We did not have a lot of money when I was growing up. (I paid my own way through college, and I didn't have cable tv there either!).

i've never seen valley girl, i don't think. although it's on my queue.

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

It played on regular tv all the time too, that's how I got it taped, I had the edited version for years, but that was better than nothing.

Mr. Tia- you need to see Valley Girl.
Me and you can watch "Escape to Witch Mountain" and reruns of Hello Larry together. [Big Grin]

i'll bump it on my queue.

oo! oo! how about "james at 15/16"? that's supposed to be quite excellent.

Download is a five day festival (although the music only lasts 3)held at Castle Donington, Nottingham and yes, last year the Ozzfest played on Saturday. The 3 headliners last year were Feeder (wtf?) Black Sabbath and System of a Down. With over 80 bands spread over 3 days over 3 stages there was something for everyone.

I will start my Download 2006 thread once they announce the headlners. So far only Prodigy (wtf?), Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine are confirmed but I believe the launch party is today!!!!

Germany has its own festivals (Rock Am Ring, Wacken, Fury Fest etc) but to me, Donington is the spiritual home of rock...

There's so many movies out there to choose from, but if i had to pick one to sit down and watch for the evening it would be 'April Fool's Day', thats one brilliant movie!!!
I'd invite Isis and the gang to bring the popcorn, and fluffy cushions to hide behind [Smile]

Sue xx

I'd watch some kinda wonderful with the Duck.

I reckon I might go to Download this year, but I fancy Glasto and Reading too, so I may just have to be permanantly caked in mud this year.

But Paul, watching it with the Duck is the happy ending he never got in Pretty In Pink. Otherwise, I'm sure you were her first choice.

Well, that goes without saying.....infact..scratch what I said before.....I'd watch SKOW with Paul and PIP with the Duck...now I think about it, it's an obvious choice.

And Girls just wanna have fun with Muffy, and Teen Witch with Rainbow and Valley Girl with Isis, and...well....the list goes on.

Lets just hire out a cinema and we can all go.

If they are there you must see them. I rememeber you saying you were going to try and see them last year, but it was too packed where they were playing...

I would have as my choice Bernie_Lomax.

We would then view Australian 80s' films: Fever, Ground Zero, Stir, Hard Knocks and Squizzy Taylor, to name a few.
