I've been going over posts and I've noticed that a lot of members specialize in certain areas of 80s movie knowledge.

I know a lot of the technical details and trivia while logan knows all the titles.

What do you feel you know the most about when it comes to 80s movies?

Sincerely,

John Kilduff

I think my knowledge of the 80's is more music based than film based.

Stallone, Schwarzenegger, John Carpenter, Spielberg, James Cameron, Tim Burton, Sci-Fi, Horror, Action & Non-Disney Animated Films.... I'm pretty clued up on films with this lot, to name a few.

Oh wow, anything to do with the 80s teen flicks for sure! All of our favorites Sixteen Candles, St. Elmo's Fire, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, and Better Off Dead! Ask me stuff about any of those and I would probablly know. But really I am a lover of trivia so anything to do with movies in general is right up my alley!

i would have to say my best knowledge of the 80s would be 80s music (and music in general because i listen to so many different types), but when it comes to movies, i can recognize actors and the tiniest of roles they may have had in many non popular films.

also,...horror movies, especially the zombie flicks, and halloween movies of the 80s.
another thing i have always payed close attentoin to is music used in 80s movies. i always make sure i notice the soundtrack and whether the songs have good or bad placement in the movie.

I seem to be good with dates. If someone asks me what year did a movie come out, 9 times out of 10 I get the date right. That isn't nearly impressive as those who know the history and trivia of obscure actors from obscure movies [Wink]

Was that a compliment or a dig and was it directed towards me or another poster in this thread?

Sincerely,

Wow, that was out of left field. I was actually down playing my own "expertise" and giving credit to those who are movie encyclopedias. I was being humble without trying to toot my own horn. How you got offended by that is beyond me. Put the bottle of whiskey down and step away from the keyboard.
