Hello there everyone -
I need help with remembering an 80s film of course. I can't remember much but what I think I remember is:

Film has something to do with multiple groups of late teens, probably seniors going off to college.

One couple elopes, I think the girl is a virgin. He takes her to the Cardiff-by-the-Sea bed and breakfast and they check into a room that has a heart shaped bed and a view of the ocean.
I *think* they eloped or this may have been bf and gf who decided to have sex and to make it special this is what the guy did.

I believe that there is some sort of sadness over the above scene and either the guy or girl ends up looking out at the ocean and contemplating suicide.

Yes - this is completely vague. But the key here in my memory is the Cardiff-By-The-Sea and the Heart Shaped bed and ocean panoramic views. I'm hoping that if you're into 80s movies and live in san diego you might have SOME clue as to what i'm talking about.

I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance!

I thought that about this movie too...that it sounded a little like Private School. But that wasn't the name of the one in Private School....
and nobody wanted to commit suicide in Private School...except Phoebe (Kris) didn't seem so turned on by the place...and got sick from too much pink champagne...but she didn't seem suicidal over it....and then they did go and "do it" in the ocean...so the trip ended up being worth it...in the end.

I think that's it!!

It might not have been suicide I just couldn't remember what the problem was that seemed like a bad problem after all they went through to get to the nice place with the heart shaped bed.

And i'm pretty certain it's private school because you mentioned Phoebe Cates is in it and earlier when someone was asking me to remember just 1 person from it she popped into my mind as the girl who went off to the bed.

I will rent it and know for sure but I'm sure you guys solved my issue. Thanks so much!!

Even if it isn't Private School, Private School is one of the best 80's movies, so you can't go wrong renting it...if you can find it...Good Luck, and let us know when you see it. [Big Grin]

Yeah, Private School is one of my favorites. I wish it would come out on DVD already! Good luck finding a place that has it for rent. You might do better just picking up a copy on Ebay. It's worth the purchase [Smile] !

Private School is a classic romp of an 80's movies. I hope you're not offended my Gratuitous Nudity, because it has a few girls that like to dance to the song "Nasty Girls". [Embarrassed]

You remembered Phoebe Cates? What about Betsy Russell?
