i was wondering what other peoples faveourite song or dance sequences were. mine has gotta be duckie singing "try a little tenderness" in pretty in pink! although the dancing in TBC is a close second [Razz]

i have a fair few... but i watched my good friend 'ferris' again last night, and i kinda wanted to 'twist and shout' all over again!

<geek alert> i've actually mimicked the dance baby does to 'wipeout' in 'dirty dancing' before! haha! oh the shame!

oh and the ones in 'hairspray' are all brilliant... i've done 'the madison,' 'the bird' and many others countless times! [Smile]

i know its not an 80's movie, but the dance sequence in 'she's all that' has to be the most cringeworthy of anything i have ever seen like it! i'm one for liking these scenes too!

for some reason i find myself debating whether it would have worked better in a movie from our favourite decade... but i'm not sure if it would have at all! its not a bad choice of song either! maybe it was just the iceing on the cake to a terrible film, i just don't know!

My favorite dance sequence is in "Footloose". The ending when everyone is getting down.

I also like it when Farmer Ted gets "very hot very hot" in Sixteen Candles.

When Ozone & Turbo teach Kelly how to Breakdance in "Breakin'" to the song "Ain't Nobody" by Rufus and Chaka Khan.

Got you effortlessly
That's the way it was
Happened so naturally
Didn't I know it was love
The next thing I got was you
Holding me close
What was I gonna do
I let myself go
Now we fly through the stars
I hope this night will last forever

I've been waiting for you
It's been so long
I knew just what I would do
When I heard your song
I fill my heart with your kiss
You gave me freedom
You knew I could not resist
I needed someone
And now we're flying through the stars
I hope this night lasts forever

Ain't nobody loves me better
Makes me happy
Makes me feel this way
Ain't nobody loves me better than you

I wait for night time to come
To bring you to me
I can't believe I'm the one
I was so lonely
I feel like no one could feel
I must be dreamin'
I was this dream to be real
I'm in this feelin'
I make my wish upon a star
And hope this night will last forever

Ain't nobody loves me better
Makes me happy
Makes me feel this way
Ain't nobody loves me better
Ain't nobody loves me better than you

First you put your arms around me
Then you put your charms around me
I can't resist this sweet surrender
Oh my mind's so warm and tender
We stare into each other's eyes
And what we see is no surprise
Got a feelin' most would treasure
And a love so deep we cannot measure

Ain't Nobody Loves Me Better! [Big Grin]

Isis and Muffy stop and stare at Grems dancing......
Muffy: "he's such a spaz"
Isis: "ahhh he must be in special ed"

Another great one,not 80's,but great...

it's just a jump to the left...and then a step to the rrrrrrrrrriiiight....

and talking about Footloose made me think Sarah Jessica and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.....
Helen Hunt and that hat!!!!

A few of my favorites are:

Sixteen Candles- The school dance scene in the GYM they are playing OING0 BOINGO's "Wild Sex In The Working Class" Farmer Ted is trying to get Samantha to dance "This Night is Happening"

The Last American Virgin- The Party at The Big Apple's House a.k.a David he is playing OINGO BOINGO's "Better Luck Next time" and everybody at the party is jumping up and down and hav'ing a good time you can tell they love the song.

Weird Science- The Party at Wyatt's House is one of the best parties i've seen in an 80's film. I don't know who sing this song but it is a great party song i think the title of the song is "Living In The 80's" it is playing in the scene at the party when the girl is on somebody's shoulders smoking a cigarette and she get's hit with a pillow.

Valley Girl- The party scene of course after Tommy & Loryn suppose to have had just did the Mattress Mombo after Tommy puts on his shirt and leaves the room and Loryn says "Get Out" they start to play Eddy Grant's "Electric Avenue" and then they show everybody at the party dancing to the song.

My favorite dance scene is the company audition from "Flashdance". It was so energetic and inspiring for me! I also like the warehouse dance from "Footloose", the Street People dance from "Breakin'", and the Time of my Life scene from "Dirty Dancing". [Razz]

Definately Flashdance when she does the dance and then pulls the string and dumps all that water on herself! I still have fantasies about that one!

I also like when Turbo dances on the ceiling in Breakin' 2.

How about Corey Feldman's MJ impersonation in Dream a Little Dream or BTTF's Johnny B. Good dance scene? Two of my favorites are Pretty in Pink and the masquerade party in Labyrinth. Also, it's not one of my favorites, but I can't believe that no one mentioned Risky Business.

Since I'm here at Isis we've been watching 80's classics non-stop.....It feels like my childhood slumber parties all over again....PJs,popcorn and talking about boys all over again...haha!!

And I finally saw Breakin' and loved it!!!
The clothes in the movie are so impressive...belts that go across your front...so funny.. [Smile]

The dance-offs in Breakin were great! I wanted so bad to dance along.....but held back so I wouldn't totally embarass myself in front of Isis! Although she probaly would've got up with me and taught me the steps.
