I happen to enjoy the ratings system of others that we have around here.
I now have 14 of them. Which is a lot you might think. I was just curious, how do some of you give your ratings? Do you ever change them? Are there qualifications for getting a rating?
Mine is 3.74, I think because I might be a bit snooty at times.

Hey chickofthe80, first you need to go into your profile (following the link at the top of this page) and enable ratings. Then people can rate you and you see the average alongside your posts and the detail by referring back to the Profile.

I don't understand how the ratings work either, I gave you a 5 Devo-myself, I don't ever rate anybody unless I give them a 5, because I won't be rude and mean to anyone- like for why, just don't even rate those who you don't think deserve a high score, that's the way I think.

Isis, I do it the same way. I have only rated 2 people here so far - each with 5, because I thought they were exceptionally nice or funny. I think it would take a REALLY bad thing to happen for me to rate anyone with a 1 or anything.

Honestly, I rate people by abstract things that they know about. Common Knowledge is one thing, but to really know things without looking on the Net is quite another. I don't really give ratings lower than 3 not that I am all high and mighty, but people that answer the hard questions sometimes deserve a bit more.

I actually honestly think the whole rating deal is completely "highschoolish" and I don't really understand the purpose of it. I did it and rated people high, just to tell the people that I liked, that I thought they were a good person, and the people I don't "click" well with, then I leave them alone. That simplifies everything doesn't it? I always think it's ignorant to be negative for any reason, just because you don't agree, doesn't me a darn thing.

Well, I have been rated seven times and my weighted score is 3.75. This a pretty decent rating, so I'm pretty happy w/ it. If anybody has rated me low, I apologize if I offended you in anyway.

i don't think it should matter-the rating thing. but i am very thankful to those who did rate me. Isis, not just saying this but I rated you a 5 aswell...awhile ago. We have differences of opinion sometimes...but I always enjoy your refreshing outlook on everything. I love reading your posts! Besides, if everyone had the same opinion about everything, wouldn't it contradict the whole point of a message board?

Five people voted for me, and I got a 4.85. Some very nice people out there. Good to know that I haven't ****ed anyone off. This forum is worth having the internet alone for me. A lot of fun, and I've learned a lot. Still uncertain about the number ranking for voting. I voted for some people, but it was just add to buddy list, there was no numeric ranking. Puzzled.

I'm not totally positive about this answer. But try clicking on the "my profile" at the top of this page. Then click on "view/update profile" and finally click yes for "allow your user rating to be publicly displayed."

I have a rating of 4.63 and have been rated 12 times.
I have rated nine other Rewinders, all but one of them five stars. I gave that one four stars.

Average is bliss. Not. I will fight on to satisfy some 80's loving soul out there while adding as many hopefully, worthy posts as possible. Current posts standing is 109th and will soon pass Real Genius/Soul Man loving Fightertown with the top 100 just around the corner with the competition getting harder.
