Ok, like I got my jukebox yesterday!! And I am flipping out-I have no reason to ever leave my house ever again. I was going through all my old 45's and putting them on there, and there were so many songs I forgot about that I totally loved, and never would have remembered, here's a few of them, tell me if you guys like any of them, or even remember them?

When the Heart Rules the Mind-GTR
We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off-Jermaine Stewart
Dynamite/Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin- Jermaine Jackson
4 in the Morning-Night Ranger
Someday-Glass Tiger
Dominoes-Robbie Nevil
Leather and Lace-Stevie Nicks/Don Henley
I wish I had a girl like that-Henry Lee Sommer
The Glamours Life-Sheila E.
Tears-John Waite
Party All the Time-Eddie Murphy
Wipeout-The Fat Boys

I put a few 70's 45's on there..like I Fooled Around and Fell in Love, and Long Train Runnin,

There are more, but my head went blank..but my favorite one, that I was glad to hear was When the heart Rules the mind, I love that song, does anyone remember it?

I remember GTR and When the Heart Rules the Mind. I believe GTR had one former member of early Genesis.

I also remember most of those songs you listed and liked the Henry Lee Summer and 2 70's songs you listed. Fooled around and fell in Love has always been a personal favorite of mine and The Doobie brothers rocked too.

I need a Jukebox too

isis, you have a jukebox? wow where do you keep it?
My friend has been working with others on a more up to date jukebox http://www.touchingstuff.com - a computer based system where the computer sits in another room far away, and the control panel (touchscreen monitor with specially written software) sits in the posh bar. The computer is loaded up with songs just by putting the CD in, it reads the whole disc in and puts it in the harddrive automatically.

Wizard, that sounds quite cool - BUT owning a "real" Jukebox like Isis with real 45's... Man that's the ultimate luxury!!!
Congrats Isis! [Cool]

Congratz with your jukebox Isis,

Excellent choice of records btw, I also remember most of them and I adore ‘Fooled Around And Fell In Love’ by Elvin Bishop.
I recently rediscovered another song by Jermaine Stewart: ‘Get lucky’. You can't beat the feeling of hearing a record (you like) on the radio but that you totally forgotten about. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen too many times. [Frown]

I just was playing it..it is so awesome, some more songs I have are:

Waiting for a Star to Fall-Boy Meets Girl
Perfect Way-Scritti Politti
Rumbleseat-John Cougar Mellencamp
If it isn't Love-New Edition
To Live and Die in LA-Wang Chung

It is so awesome, we bought it from a vending company. I had a full size Return of the Jedi arcade game, that some friends of my sons, did something to it, and blew the whole control panel out- it had worked perfect, and they were going to see about fixing it, but I have no scematics-sp? for it, and they don't think they can, so I have to probably get rid of it..my dream though-is to own a Flash Gordon pinball machine. The jukebox is awesome..It plays 5 CDS- and every track on that CD, and about 400 45's, including the flip sides, it has pink and blue neons lights in it, and it has a CD in this 3 dimensional mirror in the top. The sound is awesome. We have a gameroom/ with a bar- but we don't drink, so I have my lunch box collection in there, and we have a casino slot machine that is Donkey Kong, and I have some marquees from Dig Dug and Frogger, and I collect coca cola stuff- even though I only drink Pepsi-coke has better memoribilia. I do have another fridge in there, I keep it stocked with bottles of coke and bottles of rootbeer-so you can get the feel for the way things used to be. We are putting french door in that room, so in the summer we can let the screen open, cause it goes out to our patio where our hot tub is, and we can blast the jukebox, it will be so awesome. I totally recommend one.. The place that sold us ours, for just a regular jukebox that only does 45's, they were only $800,-the one with the CD in it too-was more-but I don't think that's alot, compared to what someone would pay for a computer, or a flat screen tv..we did just put a flat screen- a little 15 inch one in our gameroom too, and it is so cool, we hooked up the 1st Playstation we had, and I can play Frogger in there on it!! Circuit City had them, and we got the floor model, and they gave us a free remote, and and took $50 off, and it had been on clearance, so it was only $280- It hangs on the wall..I totally recommend getting one. I never thought I would be in awe of a tv, but that is pretty cool.

That's cool about the jukebox Isis. I faintly remember GTR, it was a top 40 hit I know. Speaking of forgotten songs, heard these recently: Robin Gibb-Boys do fall in love, and Frida-I know something's going on. Solo stuff from humungoid sellers Beegees and Abba.

Posted by isis9968 (Member # 1780) on :

Ripetide-I love the Bee Gees and Abba

Check this out: www.jukeboxcard.com

It is where I am ordering new labels for my records. I had to go write some of them down. When I was in 7th grade there was a local band that came to our school and preformed, and everybody loved them, they were the coolest. And I loved this one song they sang, and they sold 45's of it, but for some reason I never bought one,(I listened to my best friend's-but I always wish I had gotten one) so it was weird, that when I was 19, my Dad told me about this guy he worked with that he showed my picture to, and he wanted to know if I would go out with him. I did go out a few times with him, and he turned out to be the guitar player for that band, and he happened to have some 45's of that song they did-it was called Holly and the band was called Tyme. I didn't go out with him any more after I found out he was 13 years older than me, and my Dad didn't know it either..but I have the record, and it's now in my jukebox-which is so cool.

Here's some more..I can't tell you guys how awesome Joan Jett's "Do you wanna touch me" sounds on it- the bass is incredible.

867-5309-Tommy Tutone
Harden my Heart-Quarterflash
Heart and Soul-T'Pau
Kiss the Bride-Elton John
Where R U now-Jimmy Harnen
Do What You Do-Jermaine Jackson
Love is Like A Rock-Donnie Iris
All the Right Moves-the theme song from the movie-David Campbell
I miss you-Klymaxx
I'll Still Be Loving You-Restless Heart
Piano in the Dark-Brenda Russell

and some of my favorite other oldies- The Streak-Ray Stevens, and With Your Love-Jefferson Starship

Oh, man, hadn't thought of one of those you mentioned in a long time: We don't have to take our clothes off, to have a good time, oh no, we can dance and party all night, and drink some cherry wine, uh huh!

haha!

Posted by Riptide (Member # 457) on :

Yes, Jermaine Stewart, forgot about him. Do you remember Walking in the rain by Orange Juice Jones? Also anybody remeber a song called Diamonds are a Girl's best friend? Was it by Pebbles or someone else?

Posted by isis9968 (Member # 1780) on :

McFly-I am glad you cam back, to take your clothes off...hehehehe...

I loved Pebbles- I like the song-Giving you the Benefit, and Love Makes things Happen

came-I meant- my e must be sticking, or since I stuck an extra one in Riptide, it fell out of came. Oh well.

Glad you liked it..you know and I know who that tape is sort of about..especially..Telephone-Long Distance Love Affair-Sheena Easton, and Magent and Steele-Walter Egan. Hmm, I wonder if someone else likes those 2 songs too?? Hmm?? When you get over the fear, maybe someone else will too, and we can all rock around the jukebox at my house!

There you go, just to give an idea of the worth of a working model.

I'm with Isis...I want a pinball machine also...Maybe a PacMan if I feeling silly... [Big Grin]

Monsoon- Thanks, but that's where I bought it from-off Ebay, and that's about what I paid for it too, plus $200 to ship it to me on a tractor trailor, so it totally makes me mad, I emailed the seller of it, and it was pretty much my tough luck, I got it and it worked great- I let other kids play with it, and they wreck it, it's like people don't respect anything anymore, I can't tell you all how many people have trash my stuff, or borrowed movies or tv shows, and never returned them..you get where you don't want anyone to touch your stuff. I will break someone's finger if they touch my jukebox-and I am not a violent person, but it's like people don't care about anything. Even if I found the scematics for the Return of the Jedi, there is only 1 place near me that could fix it, and at an hourly rate of $50, it could cost alot, I might as well, take my losses and just take the money and get something else. The same place has some pretty awesome stuff. I have always wanted a table game of Frogger, where you can sit on both side, I thought that would be a cool thing to own.

TKO-I need to find some Breakin 45's now, so that will keep me looking for something.

Another good 80's song-that I don't have, and want to find on a 45-is Twilight Zone by Golden Earring.

iiiiiiiisis...you need some jody-don't you want me, and club nouveau-jealousy. hm, wonder if those are available on 45.
i just heard those 2 songs on a cd i haven't listended to in ages. [Razz]

I like Don't you want me..got it on a tape and a CD..that's a good one Ronnie. Maybe I should get some Lisa Lisa with Cult Jam too, huh??? [Wink]

Devolution here,

Isis, you got some good stuff on your Jukebox, I would have one just like it if I has the cash. We don't have to take are clothes off, a great song to hear in the car. Jermaine Stewart died a while back if I recall correctly. I have just about all of those songs. It sounds like a good deal.

I totally agree with you on others respect for your property. If you end up selling it I honestly dont think the losses will be that great. Theres a Star Wars fan or an Arcade fan somewhere that will be looking for it and be willing to put the time and money into to to make it playable once more. - Stay positive!

Jermaine Stewart Memory Page

That is very sad, I did not know he died.
He was born 2 days before my birthday, and died 1 day after my husband's..I always look at dates of stuff. I just thought he disappeared like everyone else.
I do remember the group Shalamar..what were some songs they sang, cause I think I really liked them??

Posted by sam hain2 (Member # 1964) on :

Shalamar's highest charting song stateside anyways is The Second Time Around which made it up to #8. The song I remember the most is Dancing in the Sheets which reached #17.

Posted by isis9968 (Member # 1780) on :

Dancing in the Sheets-that's it..that's the song I knew there was one I loved, I'll have to look for it on a 45 record. I found I hate myself for loving you on a 45 record by Joan Jett!

There are some old songs I loved as a kid, that I have found now on 45's, so this is really awesome. I always loved the song-In the Ghetto-by Elvis-found it on a 45! And there was a song called "Patches" by Dickie Lee, I haven't heard that song in 25 years-I bet. I found it on a 45 too.

Posted by Riptide (Member # 457) on :

Isis, you need some Rockwell. Somebody's watching me. I think he also had a smaller hit called obscene phone caller, but I've never run into the 45 of it.

Posted by isis9968 (Member # 1780) on :

I did like that song, it seemed like Michael Jackson was singing a song with everybody in the 80's...I have State of Shock with Mick Jagger-does anyone remember it? I loved Say, Say, Say with Paul McCartney. I liked the song Centepide-by Rebbie Jackson, does anyone remember it?

I was putting some more songs in to night.
Does anyone else remember Goodbye-by Night Ranger? Night Ranger had some excellent songs in the 80's.
I put in All this Time-by Tiffany

It is funny, cause the jukebox came with 5 CDs and the 45's that were in it, and there were a few we are keeping..my mother's all time favorite song-was on there-Unchained Melody-by the Righteous Brothers-it is staying...and Old Time Rock N Roll....
The Electric Boogie-aka the Electric Slide-my son loves it, and I never heard this song ever in my life-but maybe others have- The Taliban song, that is the Day-O song, Come Mr. Tailban hand over Bin Laden, does anyone know that one? After a few times of hearing it, it gets on your nerves.

I am going to look for 45's now..I bid on a 45 record holder that has all the superheros on it...I thought that was pretty cool.

Devolution here,

Isis, I have centipede by Rebbie Jackson on 45, and you seem to be getting an impressive collection of 45's for it. That is really great.

sis, i remember the song cetipede. i remember the red dress she wore in the video.
you should get the song (i may have the title wrong) 'everbody's got a hungry heart.' i don't know who sings it, but i love that song.
-just a suggestion [Smile]

errrr... i missed the 'I' at the beginning of ISIS. sorry, "sis." [Razz]

Posted by isis9968 (Member # 1780) on :

That's ok, "I" be your "SIS"..Ronnie..
Hungry Heart-was that Bruce Springsteen??? I will try and find Centepide. Who sings the song Promises Promises..I heard it on the radio yesterday, and when I hear songs now, from the 80's-I think..oh that's a good one for on the song title game.

Posted by isis9968 (Member # 1780) on :

I realized that I have Dancing in the Sheets on the Footloose soundtrack!!!

Posted by isis9968 (Member # 1780) on :

My mom brought me all my old 45's, that were mixed in with hers, we added them on to the jukebox last night, and I wanted to know if anyone remembered this song, it does something to me to hear it.....I can't believe it's been so long since I have heard it..I don't even hear it on the radio...

I wanna hear it from your lips-Eric Carmen
