My opinion on this is Wham's Careless Whisper. I had to watch that every time it was on. I remember always wanting to hear it when I was at the skating rink. Oh my memory to my middle school years is in high gear today!

When Doves Cry, and just about anything Prince was in was pretty bad.

But, nothing comes close to being risque as what they put on now, that stuff is plain gross. I don't even watch the MTV Music Awards cause they are such sleazes on there, I was in a doctor's office today, and saw an Entertainment Weekly magazine, with Britney Spears and Madonna kissing, they said it was from this year's award show, what is up with all that? That is gross.

The most risque video of the 80's?

"China Girl" (1983) by David Bowie was pretty controversial in its day.

For Isis, nearly anything by Madonna would have to be considered as being risque for its time.

Today's singers such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, etc., all grew up listening to Madonna and watching her videos. So why is it suprising that Madonna and Britney in a lip-lock?

Surely it has to be "Imagination" by Belouis Somme. I only ever saw it on screens at a bar that showed pop videos from laserdisk.

It wasn't far short of soft core porn. We're talking T&A here, folks... [Eek!]

Ever seen "Lovelite" by O'Bryan?

Lots of nudity in that one.

I guess you'd have to put 'Girls on Film' by Duran Duran into this category. And probably 'Relax' by FGTH. Kinda extreme for their time.

I was just going to say Relax by Frankie goes to Hollywood.

Lets see if I can think of another one just to be original...............

Love in an Elevator-Aerosmith..

Going.....Down? [Wink]

'The Long Hot Summer' video by the Style Council was kind of controversial because it looked too 'gay' in the AIDS era.

But then again we had the clips of French singer Mylène Farmer,... now THAT was controversial. [Razz]

I was JUST about to ask about this one after clicking into the thread! I remember the MTV version, but I heard my dad telling me about the "porno" version, as he likes to call it, being shown in my aunt's tavern back then. I guess now it's confirmed that this version exists! [Big Grin]

Bronski Beat's Smallown Boy was for it's time. It made you think more than it was risque. Do any videos today make you think? Madonna's like a Prayer and Papa don't preach are no brainers as well. I heard Soft Cell's Sex Dwarf video was contoversial, haven't seen it, anyone else see it?
