hi! another stupid question im afraid. but how do u pronounce macchio properly is it MATCHIO, MACKIO, or MACHEEO?. I ve wondered for ages....i usually say MACKIO.

I read that it was MACCHEEO. It's an italian name so, it's the way it should be pronounced i think.

Actually, if you want the real Italian pronunciation of the name, it would be pronounced MACHO. Whenever there's an IO, those two letters kinda blur together. Like, take for example Gianni Versace. Everone usually pronounces it GEEAWWNEE, but actually it's pronounced JOHNNY. I'm half Italian so I'm kinda used to helping people out with Italian names. However, I'm an American so I can't speak Italian, but it's very similar to Spanish so if you can understand spanish you should be able to understand Italian as well.

Not sure your English teacher is going to know a lot about pronouncing Italian names.

Geeahne, your english teacher was right? Is your teacher Italian by the way? I'm Italian and I'm used to people mispronouncing last names in my family like Cerniglia and Giambrone. Those are just a couple of Italian last names in my family. Exactly what part of Italy does Ralph's ancestry come from? I'm American, but my ancestry hailes from Palermo, which is the capita

sorry, I hit the post button before finishing what I had to say.......Pelermo is the capital of Sicily. My great-grandparents moved to the U.S. in the very early 1900's.
