Love hair metal and 80s hard rock and heavy metal in general.
Especially Lizzy Borden, Lita Ford, W.A.S.P., Vixen and Babylon A.D. of those you mentioned.

Have you seen the ´84 film Hardbodies? Vixen (very early edition) performs few songs in the film.

I love it. But I always find it funny calling bands like Vixen and Poison 'metal'. Rock surely? Not even hard rock!

'Hardbodies' is great. Hardbodies 2 is insane!

WASP were in 'Dungeonmaster' aka 'Ragewar'.

Interesting - I see Petrucci's not with them yet. The redhead looks familiar...

I'll have to check out the movie. Thanx

That's why they call it "Hair Metal"... ;>

- and have you given a listen to Vixen's 1st album? Don't judge musicians based on what the record labels deem "viable for the masses".

These gals kick some major ***!

Not to mention Share Pedersen plays a fretless bass - I don't see many ROCK musicians wielding one of those.

I will be seeing Vince Neil tomorrow in Erie, PA at a free show. I wonder how much the sounds guys are going to have to juice him up. Vixen is playing on Friday, and Quiet Riot, or what is left of them, are playing Saturday.

Wasn't meant as an insult [Wink]

...but they still sound like rock to me! Then again, lots of bands that were categorised as metal up to the mid 80's sound quite soft compared to what constitutes metal today. Zeppelin were considered metal once. Also worth noting that a lot of bands have a tougher sound when they play live than the stuff that ended up on their records.

On a similar note: I remember back in the 80's making jokes about Def Leppard's 'Hysteria', saying that because the production was so slick and layered, it had taken all the edges off the music. It sounded more like 'hard pop' than rock!

Hair metal is still my favorite!

I'm more a fan of Thrash/Death/Doom metal to be honest. But yeah, every now and then I like crankin' up some hair/glam rock. Some of my favorites are: Cinderella, W.A.S.P., Def Leppard, Dokken, Faster Pussycat, Whitesnake, Tesla, Steelheart, Queensr˙che, Harem Scarem

Cool bands listed there Pyro and i have most of their albums, the only one i´ve never paid attention is Faster Pussycat.

Queensryche and Harem Scarem were always technically skilled and more than just hair bands.
It´s nice that both of them are still going strong, QR released the great "Condition Hüman" back in 2015 and Harem Scarem´s excellent "Thirteen" came in 2014.
New HS album "Unity" out later this spring and i´m sure Queensryche is back in the studio pretty soon also!
