Hi guys. Well seeing as we are a community of 80s awesomeness, I thought that you all should know how awesome one of us is :-)

Our very own Duckie Dale has written a book! Its super amazing and full of charm, wit, romance and retro music references.

Its available on amazon for the kindle or kindle app. So please support him and check it out.

The link is http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pete+galer

Thanks for reading :-)

Is this a one-off or will there be more coming?

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

He only just finished that one not too long ago. I think there will be a wait for another. Encouragement and support can only go towards a follow up. Have you had a look at it yet? X

Duckie and Earth Angel .. I think this is just awesome! I was going to ask if this book was inspired by your relationship, but that was answered above.

Congrats and I hope it touches others in the way that you hope.

Thank you Valley - that means a lot.

I'm not very good when it comes to self publicity, and this post was solely down to Ms Angel, who's enthusiasm for, and support of this book, has made me very proud and very humble.

If I sell just a single copy to someone somewhere who's ever been truly in love, and who can share it with their partner with a feeling of "wow - this could be about US!" then I'll be happy [Smile]

Very nice. But... whatever happens to good ol' written books *sigh*

I might read it if I could obtain a copy offline in Australia.

Posted by P_a_u_l (Member # 1022) on :

You could buy it from the link above wherever you are. Even in Australia...

Thanks for your support Paul, I appreciate it. Have you had a chance to read any of it (either the sample, or the whole thing)?

Oh - I loved the mention of Some Kind Of Wonderful at the beginning. Was that just for me? [Smile]

I'd be interested to find out how you go about getting stuff published on Amazon / Kindle, as it's something I'm keen to move on to (at present I'm restricted to blogging and to putting stuff on sites like fanfiction.com

Its worth a read, only 2 quid and mentions some kind of wonderful. What are you waiting for? ;-)

Posted by P_a_u_l (Member # 1022) on :

Who said I was waiting? [Smile]

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Not you Paul :-) you have apparently already succumbed to the power of my 80s mentions gambit ;-)

Posted by Earth Angel (Member # 3301) on :

Oh and first prize for identifying the origins of the main characters surnames. 80s related of course ;-)

Closest I can get is Magnum PI and Robert Wagner...

Haha you will have to read it to guess. The duck doesn't have the chest wig to be. Thomas magnum and I am Stephanie powerless to be the wag man.

There is a new blog online to give you a little insight into what made me write this thing in the first place, should anybody be interested in delving a bit further into my inner psyche.....

.....And why not - it's a fascinating place ;-)
