I absolutely love seeing the Christmas and Halloween episodes from my favorite TV shows. I recently got Halloween episodes from MASH, Barney Miller, Cheers, Happys Days, Laverne and Shirley, and The 70's Show. Can you guys share your favorite Halloween and Christmas episodes from your favorite shows...doesn't have to be 80's. Cheers!

Few Halloween episodes were more genuinely creepy than The Great American Hero's 2 cracks at the season. Both the Season 2 episode with the dark dimension and Bill's possession and the Season 3 episode with the insane magician are pretty unnerving no matter how old you are.
Alf had pretty good Halloween (where in order to attention the Tanners' Halloween party, he rips a zipper off one of Willie's pants and glues it to his chest to give the impression he's wearing a costume) and Christmas episodes (both Xmas specials were good, although I like the 1st season one better, where he and Willie get stuck in the woods looking for a Christmas tree).
Although I haven't seen it in years, I do love Night Court's Christmas episode where they get snowed in and Bull freezes solid, leading them to plant him nude in a barrel of hot water to thaw him out. I forget exactly what he says when he does come to, but the puzzled look on his face when he looks around and sees his circumstances is priceless.
Two of my favorite out of decade shows also have good episodes dealing with the holiday theme of forgiveness, as both Due South ("Gift of the Wheelman," where Fraser tries to figure out why the titular character pulled the alarm on his fellow bank robbers) and Monk ("Mr. Monk Meets His Dad," the best of the 4 holiday episodes they ultimately shot, where his father returns after 40 years, and Monk's talked into going on a trip with him to try and reconnect with him) deal with trying to find peace with our fathers, something society itself needs to learn since fathers seem to get the blame, rightly and wrongly depending on the circumstances, for everything these days; after all, if we can't forgive our parents, as Monk finds out when he realizes he was just as wrong to hold so harsh a grudge as his father was for running from the family because their tics were too much for him to take then, who can we hope to truly forgive?

Have to agree the Monk episode you are talking about is great especially when his dad gets him the bike he never had as a kid.

Trust me, it'll be worth it. Other holiday episodes they made include him taking a load of media heat for shooting a suspect dressed as Santa, and him reluctantly taking a case about a murdered bum; the scene where his assistant invites the victim's associates to Christmas dinner and he uses air freshener liberally around them is priceless.

Sounds funny Chris. I've been getting some great Christmas episodes...Alf, Happy Days, Barney Miller, Cheers, Laverne and Shirley, MASH, That 70's Show, and Punky Brewster. Unfortunately, when I get someting like this in my head, I become a bit infatuated...I've been googling every TV show I can think of, looking at a description of episodes from each season, writing them down,trying to find them, etc. I start developing these crazy lists...suppose a mental heath therapist could help?

The Punky Brewster xmas specials were always my favorite, and still make me tear up a little when I see them.
We don't really get xmas episodes of our own Australian shows here because xmas is during the summer, which is the non ratings period. Although for the last few years, Neighbours has had an annual xmas decoration competition between the households during it's last week of the season, so that's something...
