I went to my physician today for general health stuff ya know, and I had a prostate exam just for security measures, to know if everything is good....WOW!!! that was NOT fun.....

No thank god, but since I'm 36, I should expect one in the next decade or so.

Aah yes the dreaded popping glove sound. Had one of those about 2 months ago. I'm always ok throughout the physical until I hear that noise. I can't stand the popping glove noise anywhere anyplace as a result of it. You definitely walk away feeling violated......

Haha I just want to lay down and stare at the walls now...I don't know who I am anymore [Smile]

But yea I thought physicals were bad back in high school....this was a physical and a half!

Yeah the high school physicals were like "Turn your head and cough." Ya get much more hands on with the physical once your in your 30s like "Bend over face forward, drop em." I always try to think of something pleasant but it's hard to do whilst bein violated.......

I think it was Chevy Chase in "Fletch" that started singing Moon River when the doctor went south hahahaha

I always feel like Peter Griffin after mine lol. My doctor said he was only gonna check me every other year until I hit the big 4-0 then it's yearly after that..........

Oh, I feel so bad for you boys. Try gettin' violated at least once a year, ha,ha.
Eddie Wilson, I remember that part in Fletch- I just about pee myself when I hear him singing!

I actually should get one done. I'm 44 and have yet to have my first one. The only times I ever go to the Doctor is when there's something wrong with me.

That's what I did during mine! [Big Grin] The doctor started laughing. I asked him to make sure he wasn't missing any rings or a watch when he was done... He started laughing again... I went home and took a shower... [Smile]

thank you! haha those "exams" are never fun. at least it's not often you have to have that done, right?

[Smile] You got the all clear though Eddie, which is something.

I've had the 'Fletch': "You using the whole fist, Doc?... you ever serve time"?

You guys have it made, you should be so lucky.

I use to have a male doctor when I had my son, and then I went to a female doctor- and I'll never go to another male doctor ever again- they don't have any empathy for what your going through. Try getting a mammogram-you get everything crunched in this machine, and then you think...what happens if there's a fire, and they all take off and leave me there like that.

I always feel that a year passes way too fast, because those exams seem like you were just there a week ago, when you go for one. I always leave my socks on, and pull the sheet over my head and wait until someone says it's over.

I only had it done once about 4 years ago which was the last time I was sick. I went to the hospital because I was shaking so bad from the fever that I thought I was about to die! The last thing I was expecting was "that!" All was clear though which was good news. At 35, I should start getting more physicals for early detection. So many people I know are getting cancer now.

I turn 36 in April....none for me yet either. Certainly not looking forward to it. It'd be funny to actually hear what the Doctor is thinking when doing these exams...examples:

1. "Sure wish this dude took a shower before coming to his appointment".

2. "This guy must be using a No Name brand of toilet paper".

3. "This guy might think to swing his razor back here once in a while".

One thing worse than the male prostate exam without getting too graphic as I've only had two of them: kidney stones! Eggggggggggghhhhh I cringe........

Oh, do I know kidney stones. I'm thinking of how graphic I should get here.....

Back in 2000, I woke up one night in exruciating agony, crawled out to the hallway and collapsed onto my housemates door. At the hospital they originally thought I had a twisted testicle, so had to to go for an ultrasound down there. When it came back clear, they sent me for a CT scan which picked up a kidney stone between my bladder and kidney.

Long story short, it was in an awkward position where it wouldn't pass naturally and they couldn't laser it... so they had to "go in", insert a stent and remove the stone. And there's only one way to "go in" there. Thankfully it was under general anaesthetic. BUT... a few weeks later they had to take the stent out from "down there", and it wasn't done under anaesthetic. At all.

I still have nightmares.
