I need a Blu-Ray player... I'm thinking about replacing my 19" monitor with a 32" 1080P HDTV. The higher resolution (1920 x 1080) is perfect for a monitor and a HDTV. I really can't afford it... [Eek!]

I did not like this movie at all...I thought it was way too violent. The rest of my family did like it. I think the word "wicked" describes it very well.

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

Best movie of the year and top 5 of all time IMO. FYI the local Blockbuster had this on the shelves for sale today and I bought a standard DVD copy as well as the Blu Ray on its way via Amazon. My friend went by to get a copy like 2 hours later and they said they had pulled if off the shelves. I'm still dumbfounded as to why they put it out early and then took it off. The comic was waaaaaaay violent so alotta true comic fans liked it myself included. Wicked is actually a compliment......

My first Blu-Ray movie!

I have not seen it yet because I absolutely HATED BATMAN BEGINS. Any chance of me liking it if I hated the "first"?

You are nuts!! [Smile]

Mamamia-I didn't actually hate Batman Begins as much as I hated this one. This one is horrible. From the beginning....the way they just kill people senselessly. I couldn't keep track of how many killings there were. It was just constant violence and constant killing. The story was sick and demented and twisted. Obviously ...since Heath Ledger is dead now...he said what a horrible effect playing The Joker did on his mind...so watching it and knowing that...that just makes it even more horrific to me.

I was not using wicked as a compliment.

I think Christian Bale acts like an arrogant jerk in this movie, and he screws his lines up in the scene at the dinner at the beginning.

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

I'll tell Chris Nolan to send Christian to voice lessons before the next installment or either make hearing aids available to everyone in the theater or hand out outlines to those who have trouble following a movie with actual plot. The killings and violence were faaaaaaar more horrific in Friday the 13th.....

P.S. The Joker had dirty fingernails all throughout the movie......

Just got this on Blu-ray. Didn't bother going to see it in the Cinema, so can't wait to watch it.

J2ME,

They are re-releasing this in theaters in January!

Posted by J2ME (Member # 5728) on :

I saw this last night, and loved it. I thought 'Batman Returns' was exceptional, but this was even better.

Heath Ledger(RIP) deserves all the credit he has received; he was amazing.

I will definitely go see this at the cinema when it's re-released.

9/10

Thanks!!
It's my favourite scene.
Did you know he improvised the clapping part when Gordon is getting a round of applause for becoming Commissioner, he was supposed to sit there still staring, but Heath began an over the top clap.. Its spooky and brilliant..

hey i didn't know that and it was eery i remember that part!

The guy was brilliant. I really think he could have been a legend if he lived. Brokeback Mountain and this were miles apart but he was brilliant in both..

Makes me sad that he's gone, really does.. [Frown]

me too i thought he was a great actor myself it is a real shame he is gone so young? very sad!!

I watched Heather Ledger's biography this afternoon...it really is sad about his death, he seemed like he was a very withdrawn person.

Having seen this movie, and seeing his biography-he really is so different in this role, I honestly think he maybe should not have played the role. At the time of his death...he was sick with the flu, he had insomnia...and he had just gone through breaking up with his wife. Last year at Christmas he had gone to Australia to see them, but Michelle Williams had gone to Sweden to work on a movie, and took their daughter with her, so he never got to see her.

He said about how dark this movie was. I really can not think of anything positive that I felt after seeing it, it was so violent and so much killing.

What did you think??

Freaking awesome! Met and surpassed all my expectations. I would love for Heath to get the Oscar.

I think they could have found someone better than Ledger to play the Joker in this movie...he was OK..but nothing Oscar-Worthy in my opinion. He certainly was nowhere near Nicholson's role in the first film. Let's Face it...No one will ever top Nicholson as The Joker in the first Batman movie.

Although I think Mark Hammill's Joker in The Animated Series comes pretty darn close.

hard to compare. they were both awesome in their own way. they both had their own take on how to play the character and they both worked.

I think Ledger captured the more dark, sinister Joker of The Dark Knight series. IMO Jack's Joker may as well have been a clown for Ringling Brothers......

It was finally time to watch The Dark Knight last night.
What a breathtaking experience it was, the movie never slows down.
You have to stay focused every second or you will miss something important.
I loved Batman Begins (i canīt believe that 11 months has passed since i watched it [Eek!] ) and i love this one.
The Dark Knight Rises coming 2012...
