I haven't had one in years. But, I was watching an episode of Double Trouble and they broke one in half and shared it...and I remembered doing that with my friends. My Aunt use to eat 4 Oreo cookies and have a glass of milk every night before she went to bed.
I use to always eat the middle out of them, I was really happy when they made Double Stuff Oreos. I think they make mint flavored ones now.
I should get me some.
There's just certain things that you seem to grow out of , or even forget existed...but at one time they made you really happy.

Double stuff rules BTW. I don't eat them hardly ever now, I always found maybe the sodium made me have this burning feeling in my stomach. I bought some vanilla golden oreos last year, they were good, like classic oreo taste meets the vannila girl guide cookie.

Cakesters are alooooooooot better but regular and double stuff Oreos are still good. Back in the day when I had a higher metabolism I could eat an entire package of Oreos at one sitting. I probably still could but I'd have to workout a lot harder to get the pounds off........
I love Oreo's. I open a bag, sit down watch a movie, and eat them all. I will drink about a half gallon of milk with them. I can be such a pig sometimes!

I have made "Gobs" or they call them "Whoopie Pies" around here. They are awesome. There's a place up the road from me that makes all kinds of them...I like the chocolate stuffed with peanutbutter icing. I also like the banana with the vanilla icing.

I was just debating with my friend over how it is possible that, when attempting to pop one half of the chocolate cookie off of the icing, that entire sleeve of cookies can break in the exact same place. Even if the cookies were dropped during production, or somewhere in route, how is it that EVERY cookie will crack in the same friggin' space?

My preferred method of eating Oreos as a child was to twist off one half and eat that, then scrape out the icing, eat the second half, then finish the icing. I only remember eating Double Stuff every now and then, but it was just as good. Oreo's commercials during the 80s were quite soothing (although I was always scared of the Nabisco tag at the end; maybe the pitch at which the voiceover people said it at, couple with the relative abruptness of its appearance on screen). Hard to believe Oreo'll be celebrating its centennial 3 years from now, having driven predecessor and main direct competitor Hydrox out of the market a few years back.

Check out this pre-Steve Urkel/Jaleel White Oreo commercial circa 1984. Too sweet! No pun intended.
I used to like dunking them in milk, but can't deel with it tto soggy. I just prefer them plain and refrigerated.

bill loves oreos they are good but i like the rainbow keebler chocolate chip cookies better myself or the soft batch chocolate chip which i don't buy much of anymore too fattening lol!!

Hehehe, sounds good to me, guys. Sugar is a naturally addictive thing, but I have to watch out around my house, because I have a diabetic stepson who would pig out on those.
When I was his age, about ten, I once opened up Granny's cookie jar and ate ALL THE MIDDLES out of every Oreo. Needless to say, I spent some time in the bathroom being sick later, and I got a scolding. But, I never gave up my love for the big chocolate crunch with the creamy middle.

Personally I like Oreos, but don't eat them too often. I prefer soft chocolate chip cookies. I used to LOVE the soft Entenmenn's chocolate chip cookies, but I swear that they changed the recipe. They don't taste so good anymore =(...

I'm a sucker for soft choco chip cookies as well. I really like the ones from Subway. There's also some swell bakeries around here that have larger ones.

Don't eat candy/cookies that much anymore, but did enjoy "Oreos" back in the day - especially with milk.
I always felt it was essential to eat the Oreos whole, and not just the filling inside - which was way too sweet. However, eating the entire Oreo was a great experience because the chocolate cookie outside sections weren't that sweet, and really complemented the much sweeter inside filling.
