Hey I was wanting to do some kind of new game since my word association and movie link games have soared way beyond my wildest dreams. What I would like to do is ask an obscure question from an 80s film and see who can get the correct answer. For example: What were the people from "Night of the Comet" turned into after they were exposed to the comet? Answer: Orange Calcium Dust; if they were just exposed slightly to it then they deteriorated much slower and were zombies! I will be watching this category closely to see how well it is received. If anyone has any questions please feel free to send me a PM.

Lets start off with:

In the movie "Fire with Fire" what was another popular movie song that was played during the dance scene and what was the song and what movie did it come from?

..................................................................................................

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

I love that song...It's ...

If Anybody Had a Heart-John Waite, and it also was in the movie About Last Night, at the end credits.

I have that song on a 45 record in my jukebox.

Here's an easy one (for Valley)...

What's the address of the party at Susie's house in Valley Girl??

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

23727 Sierra Vista...it's a party and it's going to be amazing.

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

ISIS you were right, but there was also the theme song from Fletch that was used in the dance.

"I'm In It For Love" was also in the dance scene, but I don't think it was in another movie.

You got it 80s rocked!!!!

Next question:

What was Darryl Hannah's occupation in "Roxanne"?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

ok, is this a trick question? Wasn't she a grad student studying astronomy because she mentioned something about naming a comet.

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

You are close. Rick Rossovich's character says what she is and Steve Martin's confirms it. You are warm.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

I thought they were joking about her being a Rocket Scientist...but I'll go with that then.

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

Nope that is correct!

Next question:

What was the "defect" that Carolyn's little brother was afflicted with in Sixteen Candles?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

He was deaf.

I'm glad Ali_with_an_i isn't here right now because she's a trivia master.

Devolution here,

Man, I had about 3 of these. I love dumb trivia. Which should be called trivia for people that like to watch the same movies over and over again.

WE are DEVO

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

I agree Devo. This kind of Trivia can be so fun and is especially good for those of us who have watched something over and over again.

Next one:

Where was Regina and Samantha Belmont's father stationed at and what branch of government was he working for in "Night of the Comet"?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Ok, I know you want other people to play, so I waited, but I just got give this a shot since I totally love "Night of the Comet".

Regina and Samantha Belmont's father was stationed in Honduras and was a Green Beret Special Forces....is that enough of an answer?

btw, I think Devo just called me dumb.

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

That is a perfect answer Valley! Great Job! I think Devo meant it in a nice way! Right Dev.....

Okay, let's think of something good for the next question...

What was the name of the high school that Malaina, Pudge, Carson, and Louann attended in "Shag"?

Posted by Devolution (Member # 1731) on :

Devolution here,

Sorry, someone else can take this one. I saw Shag once. It's all my guy quota will allow.

We are DEVO

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

No takers on this one???? It is an easy one.

Clue: They sang a song about it at the very end of the movie....

Posted by 80'sRocked (Member # 6979) on :

Never saw Shag. Could look it up, but that would be cheating and no fun. [Big Grin]

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

Isn't anyone going to bite on this one??

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

I don't know it either...because I could never finish watching Shag. I didn't like it that much. I thought I really should too. I love Phoebe Cates, and I like the premise of the movie...but I never got in to the movie.

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

Oh this is absolutely killing me because it is so easy!!! Is anyone a Shag fan? One more day then I have to give you the answer......

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

Okay I cannot stand it any longer. I am going to give you the answer.

They were from Spartanburg, which meant they went to Spartanburg High. At the very end of the movie all four girls were standing on the porch of Louann's family home in Myrtle Beach and they sang their high school alma mater song: Hail Spartanburg High!

Okay, let's move on:

What famous Cheers character had a small part in "Fletch"?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

That's right, I'm back....

That would be Norm played by George Wendt who was Fat Sam in "Fletch".

Posted by Devolution (Member # 1731) on :

Devolution here,

Damn you Valley, I was all over that.

"I'd love to tame her shrew" HAHA. [Smile]

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

I know I know I just had to give one that didn't go on for so long like the Shag question.

Okay, let's see.....

In the movie Armed and Dangerous, what was the name of the company that John Candy and Eugene Levy's characters worked for?

Posted by Devolution (Member # 1731) on :

Devolution here,

I believe that is Watchdog or Guarddog Security. Something with a dog. I could be wrong, I haven't seen that in ages.

WE are DEVO

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Guard Dog Security is correct Devo.

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

Yep it is Guard Dog Security.

Okay let's try this one:

In the movie "Sixteen Candles", what kind of socks was Long Duck Dong wearing when grandpa was describing his clothing to the police when he was missing?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Jessie, I remember Grandpa mentioning something about a red argyle sweater, so knowing Long Duk Dong his socks were probably argyle as well.

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

Val you guess it! Right on! Now I need to do a tougher one....

If you are a "Clue" fan this should be a piece of cake. What was the goofy phrase that Mrs. Peac0ck used at the dinner table when all of the guests were waiting Mr. Boddy's arrival?

Posted by Devolution (Member # 1731) on :

Devolution here,

And Tan Trousers....

Great line.

It's been on the tip of my tongue for 2 days, but won't come to me. I've seen this movie so many times. [Confused]

I do vaguely remember something like: I'm not sure why we're here, but I'm going to enjoy it or have fun or something like that. That's all I got for now.

Jessie....more trivia please!

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

K, I guess I need to give the answer to this one because it was too hard!

She says: Heaven's to Betsy. They were all sitting around talking about what they do.

Let's try one that should be easier.

Who played Jake Ryan's friend while they were in the gym working out in "Sixteen Candles"?

Posted by Devolution (Member # 1731) on :

Devolution here,

Isn't that a very young Jake What's his name, from "Body by Jake"?

we are DEVO

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Was it Tony Longo......best known by me from the HBO show "First and Ten".

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

You got it right!!

Who costarred with Patrick Swayze as his love interest in the mini series "North and South"?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

ok...North and South huh...I think it was Lesley Anne Down...not to be confused with Leslie Ann Warren who I thought was great in the movie "Pure Country". Ok 80's fans..."Clue" and "A Night in Heaven".

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

Thanks once again Senior Valley!

Let's try this one:

Who played Patrick Swayze's brother in Next of Kin?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Bill Paxton...he was only in the beginning though because he ran into a little trouble with the bad guys.

Posted by Jessie the Sunflower Goddess (Member # 1877) on :

Okay let's steer clear of Mr. Swayze on the next one and mix it up!

What was the name of the character that JoBeth Williams thought she had become in the 1985 film "American Dreamer"?

Back ground on the film for those of you who aren't familiar with it. She won a romance novelist contest and was given an all expense paid trip to Paris. She suffered a head injury had thought she was the herione from her favorite romance series.
