It is weird when your watching something you haven't seen before, but it was made a long time ago, and you see actors/actresses you knew from other things.

Like tonight...I am watching Starsky & Hutch season 3, and Fran Ryan...who played Ms. Dutchbok in Private School...was in an episode. And she was skinny! I knew her from other stuff...I knew she was a great character actress, but couldn't remember what all I had seen her in, so I looked her up on IMDB, and she was in so many things.

It was sad to see she had died in 2000, and at the 72nd Academy Awards in 2000 they had a memorial tribute to her, does anyone remember seeing it?

In the same episode the man that was Mr. Vargass in Fast Times...and in Ghost...who just died recently...he was also in this episode of Starsky and Hutch. So was Suzanne Sommers (but I definately recognized her)...but there was another guy in this episode...and I don't know his real name, but I knew I remembered him from the movie Mickie and Maude- he played Maude's pro wrestling father.

Isn't it neat when you see people that you recognize....and realize that they actually did alot more work than you thought they did. Don't you wonder where they all went to?

Those are the people I wonder about. I watched an episode tonight called "Fatal Charm" where Karen Valentine played an obsessed stalker...who got a fatal attraction towards Hutch...I remember Karen Valentine from different Disney movies, and those are the people I think...I wonder where they are.

Do any of you think it is cool when you spot someone who was kind of an obscure character, but you remember them??

I just saw George Clooney in an episode of Golden Girls.

And speaking of finding actors in strange places, I once found Jon Cryer in my fridge, next to the margerine.

Oh I hate it when they do that. Although I guess Jon Cryer's been out of the limelight for so long that he's happy to settle for the fridge-light....

I remember flipping by last week and saw Patrick Swayze in an episode of MASH. I didn't realize he was that old...

Swayze is at least 50 years old. I don't remember him on MASH, but who knows, I probably saw the episode. It was on for like 12 or 13 years, so Swayze was probably still pretty young.

A lot of the attractions of getting these 80's TV box sets is the cameos. Just saw a 21 Jumpstreet episode with Christina Applegate, seeing Ving Rhames in Miami Vice, and Demi Moore in the Master. I will never forget seeing Jay Leno as delinquent hoodlum in Alice, just seeing him start from that was a true eye opener.

I saw an image of Vic Tayback in my chip dip the other night. I thought that was pretty strange.

To anyone who knows Eastenders, Can you remember Max Brannin (Jake Wood) popping up in Flesh + Blood. He was only a kid and he watched Rutger rape Jennifer Jason Leigh .... Unbelievable [Big Grin]

I was watching the first season of 21 Jump Street and in the pilot I saw Barney Martin who played Jerry's dad Morty on Seinfeld. Looked him up and found he did tons of other 80's TV work on Night Court, Punky Brewster, Hiil Street Blues. I guess being on Seinfeld is that trump card, which dwarfs everything you do. Sadly I found out he passed away in 2005.

This is one of the reasons why I enjoy watching those old "Hill Street Blues" episodes. You get to see some future-famous actors early in their careers.

Those early episodes featured Mimi Rogers, David Caruso, Tim Robbins, Frances McDormand, and many others that escape my mind, who would later became famous in other things.

When I watched Midnight Cowboy last night...I was shocked to see Jennifer Salt, who played Eunice in the TV show SOAP....as the young woman that Joe Buck was messing around with. I was not quite sure what to make of any of that stuff.

Anyone who has seen the movie...what was the flashbacks of him and the girl about? Was she raped by a bunch of men and then taken off to the looney bin? It seemed like the same thing happened to him too, but some times he was fantasizing about stuff...and I didn't know if it was something that really happened or not. There was alot of the flashback stuff that I was confused over.

But, I never would have even recognized Jennifer Salt...I only recognized her name.

Anyone have Easy Rider on DVD? I don't own it(yet), but I was always intrigued by Toni Basil (of Mickey fame) being one of the girls, Hopper/Fonda visit. I have no clue what she would have looked like in 69.

I thought so...on that whole scene...that was absolutely horrible. What about his grandmother...was she twisted? There was a scene with him in the bed when he was a kid, and there was some other old guy in the bed...who had no shirt on...was that all weird???or what??

Grandma liked a slew of different men and she had a thing for cowboys. So that was the trigger for Joe to think that women liked the cowboy look. The cowboy look was ok for Texas where he was from but it sure didn't fly in NYC.

OK...well whatever happened to his parents? They show 2 younger women bringing him to the grandma's house and dropping him off...but you don't know if one of them was his mom or who they were.

I just figured he liked the Cowboy thing because of Texas...not the Grandma.

I just don't understand in the movie...why he didn't take a job in New York as a dishwasher..instead of waiting around to starve to death.

One of the things I thought was amazing in the movie, was Dustin Hoffman doing that walk...that had to be so hard to do.

I saw an 80s slasher flick The Burning on IFC that had a young Jason Alexander and Holly Hunter in it. Eriq Lasalle before making it big on ER was in a 1985 Ruggero Deodato movie Cut And Run he was a pimp/strip club owner fyi this movie also starred Willie Ames.

Watching Star Trek a few nights ago, captain Picard opened a channel to communicate with another ship caught in a singularity time loop. The commander on the other ship was no other than Frasier Crane(Kelsey Grammer) [Roll Eyes] I was almost hoping he would psychoanalyze the whole ship trapped in a quantum singularity scenario at any moment. He didn`t though [Confused]

I can't remember the guys last name, his first name is Kelly I do believe. But I was watching our Season 1 DVD of Tales From The Crypt and the Killer Santa Clause episode and I freaked out!

I used to watch Dr. Giggles quite a bit when I was younger, that is until I went to the dentist and realized that he looked JUST like the 'good' doctor from Moorehigh.

Does anyone remember his last name? He was also in a sci-fi movie Attack of The Gryphon, and another psycho killer in a movie where he escaped his room in an asylum...he's strangely good at being a psychotic killer.

Quentin Tarantino was also in an episode. He was in a background scene playing an Elvis impersonator.

When I watched Visiting Hours...it was weird to see "Morty" (Harvey Atkin)...as the patient in the room next to Lee Grant. He is one of those guys who has been in a billion things, but you never remember his real name.

Cuba Gooding Jr. showed up in this episode of MacGyver that I watched recently. Actually, he had a lead role in this episode:

The thread title made me think of that family that came home and found Robert Downey Jr. passed out in their daughter's room.
