Browsing through YouTube videos and I'd forgotten all about this incident where - bucks fizz were involved in an horrific bus crash - https://youtu.be/jCs3Y4GewUY way back in 1984,how any of them managed to survive that is anyone's guess!

Anyone else remember this?

OK there songs might have been a bit cheesy but they were fun!

I am not familiar with bucks fizz but my first thought when I saw your pic was, that looks like a Saturday Night Live skit. The guy on the right looks like Jimmy Fallon

LOL that PIC j2me,they were actually sometimes branded as a second rate - ABBA but i liked them and at the time they had a lot of hits and as cheesy as most of them were like I mentioned earlier the majority of them were very catchy and also a lot of fun!

Although i watched every Eurovision song contest when i was a kid, i can´t really remember hearing Bucks Fizz´ winning song Making Your Mind Up.

However, few years ago i heard their tune Run for Your Life and loved it! The high tech sound and the melodies in this one are simply awesome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA3sSviMkjg

I also bought their second and third albums (Are you Ready and Hand Cut) on lp.

I had to look up what year it was when they won it with - making your mind up and it was 1981 but I do recollect definitely watching it that year,I've got to admit I always laugh my head off if we come last and in 2003 we scored nul points and came rock bottom with a group named - Gemini and there song - cry baby - https://youtu.be/XAJ62IG3gBo - not that I could do any better myself but boy that is bad!

They were put together by a management team, and didn't write or play on any of their songs. For that reason they had no credibility and were more or less targeted at the pre-teen (kid) market who only care about catchy tunes.

Having said that, I always rather liked them, and their team gave them some genuinely good songs.

I love Bucks Fizz! My parents had the chance to see them in concert during the 1980's. My favorite's by them are, "The Land Of Make Believe" and "Making Your Mind Up" [Smile]
