Devolution here,

What are some of the great bands or singers that only really had one album worth buying. You can even be crass and tell me bands that everyone likes that you only wanted one of the albums because you truly didn't like them.

It doesn't have to be 80's, but I think I am just looking to buy more CD's and I would like to hear what people listen to or what I might be interested in getting.

For instance.

Third Eye Blind's first album. Awesome
(the second is waste matter)

The Specials - The Specials. Amazing
(the other's aren't great (save Ghost Town, the track)

Live - Throwing Copper- the album is great, the others are awful.

Soul Asylum - Grave Dancers Union - Man I love this album.

Anyone got some?

Idk..I thought Soul Asylum's "Let your Dim Light Shine" record was good too. But that just might be me.

This is kind of a tough one for me. Because most bands I enjoy listening to I own at least 2 or 3 of their records, and I think they're all good.

A few I can think of from my collection off the top of my head...

PRODIGY - THE FAT OF THE LAND
If you're into electronica music, then this is a good record to have. Sadly I don't think any of their other records are as good. It's still their most popular and biggest selling record to date.

CHUMBAWUMBA - TUBTHUMPER
Again, the band's biggest seller, and well, virtually the only one anyone ever bought by them. It has the hit song everyone knows on it..but some of the other unknown tracks are pretty good too if you ask me.

KITTIE - ORACLE
Never really got too much into this all female band. But I must admit this record is still pretty damn good. Better than any others I've heard from them. This one is really loud and angry..so I suggest only picking it up if you're a true metalhead.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS - CORE
Yeah, STP did have some pretty good follow up records after this debut record. But I personally didn't think they were anywhere near as good. This record is true 90's grunge in every sense of the word, and a classic to me.

KORN - KORN
Again, a debut record that blows all other offerings by this band out of the water. I've owned other KORN records, but have since sold them all. All except this one. A great record to play loud and really annoy the neighbors.

Really D????...the Blue album? Blue was terrific...wow..

I love their music.. not so much live, but I have everything they've done. And even though their last album got no airplay, as far as I am aware anyway... I still think they are awesome.

Hmmmmm....I might get lynched for this one...in my top 10 favorite albums of all time, one of the most prominante artists from the 80's....for me, SHE was the 80's and any image of her from the era gives me ooooey gooooey feelings......my beloved Cyndi Lauper!

Sure....True Colors was a great song....Gonnies was great, but lets's face it....anything after She's So Unusual, is,well.....forgettable.
