I just got a 64GB iPod Touch that can store up to 14,000 songs, and my entire music collection is only comprised of about 2500 songs! Does anyone have any recommendations for some good 80's music or soundtracks that I should get? I already have everything by The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Cars, Echo & The Bunnymen, Psychedelic Furs, Tears for Fears, Madonna, Prince, Devo....Looking for some new stuff along those lines.

The Smiths, Gene Loves Jezebel, B-52's, The Go-Go's, The Bangles....just a few of my faves.

I'm still discovering "new old bands" from the 80's that I didn't know about back then. I couldn't care less about current music these days. It's mostly crap.

Veronica, that's interesting that you are in Chicago. I was born there but then 6 months later my parents decided that California was the place to be! Can't escape my midwest roots though!

I have Smith's and Go-Go's....Thanks for reminding me about the Bangles! I always forget about them.

Wow, big change going from IL to CA! Do your parents have Chicago accents? I never knew I had one until I traveled out west!

Are you looking to buy albums on cd or are you downloading individual songs? Or something else?

Electronic!! I haven't listened to them in years.

Secret Admirer - I'll probably be downloading songs.

Not at all! What's funny is that my dad is from Chicago but my mom is from a small town in Virginia! Go figure. Neither one has an accent that I could tell. When we went back east to visit, everyone would comment on me and my brothers "California accents"!

Speaking of The Bangles..here is a really good live show from 1984 of them. FM broadcast so it's pro quality.

Cool! I had hoped it would be of use to you. Sometimes when you post a huge list like that, people's eyes glaze over and they just skip it [Big Grin]

Lemme know if you ever need help finding a song.
