Riptide....some of my friends did pile in to station wagons and went to concerts...I was never allowed to go.

It's funny...because I lived a pretty sheltered life through high school...but as soon as I graduated I moved away from home, and lived on my own ever since.

We went to the movies all the time...but honestly I only ever wanted to go to 2 concerts when I was a teen...they were Bryan Adams and Loverboy.

I was kind of scared of concerts when I was younger...because I always thought everyone did drugs at them...and that someone would try and attack me at one...

I remember people talking about seeing K.I.S.S in concert...and I was terrified about that stuff...I thought...OMG-Gene Simmons spits blood at people, and there's fire...and they are all sex maniacs and I'd hear about the backstage stuff...and it scared me. So, I kind of didn't even think about going to concerts when I was younger.

But now...so far I have never seen anything like that at a concert. 2 drunk women fell on my husband at one...but that was the worst thing that ever happen.

My brother tells me that he's been to concerts where girls lift their shirts up...and I have heard people say someone got hit in the head with a beer bottle...

I was actually scared of going to see Van Halen...because of the amount of people...I was scared of how we'd get out of the building with out being trampled to death...but it was really easy...and everyone was sitting down...and it was nothing like what I had pictured in my head.

Well it sure was an adrenalin kick when we had 250-300 people listening in a small local.I was almost ready for a stage dive one time [Karate Kid] Anyway looking back at This i`m glad i didn`t try that.

BTW Mira is ok by now.I like her style, she is always full of positive energy. [Smile]

Posted by 80'sRocked (Member # 6979) on :

Haha....did that really happen bandit? [Big Grin]

I never did any stage-diving, but I did do my share of moshing and slam-dancing. Was fun at the moment, but I sure felt it the next day.

[Eek!]

Soulfly

Mendeed (x3)
Dragon force
Bullet For My Valentine
Guns N Roses

Looking forward to Slipknot / Machine Head / Children of Bodom in December.

Best gig ever was probably Slayer / Machine Head in 1994 (or 1995, can't quite remember) in which, during a struggle with the bouncers during Machine Head's set, Rob Flynn helped me up on stage for some serious stage diving...

During a Hatebreed gig, the final song "I Will Be Heard" was dedicated to "that young dude over there on his dad's shoulders" (ie Mini Noms).

After a Still Remains gig, the lead Guitarist came out and shook hands with mini-noms and stated how he rocked the whole show.

At the Download festival in 2005 Trivium insisted on having their photo taken with min-noms for their website and Kerrang magazine.

I swear, mini noms gets all the best gig experiences. I only wish he'd been around during Metallica's 1991/92 tour, we'd have been guaranteed a place in the snakepit for sure...

Noms [Cool]

I was posted to Northern Ireland (without my family) and for the lack of anything better to do on a weekend me and some friends went to a concert in Dublin and Kelly was playing. I would rate her performance as the worst I have ever seen...

Noms [Cool]

Saw Kelly before too and Noms is right. She and Andrew WK played together when we saw them on a sidestage at Ozzfest one year. Andrew WK is actually entertaining on stage but Kelly should be thankful her pops is rich and has made the Osbourne name famous because if it was up to her she'd be SOL.........

TOXIC SAMMY HAIN- You saw Head East? When was that? "There's Never Been Any Reason"-I remember my friend's neighbor had a band, and they were rehearsing that song allllll dayyyy long when I was visiting. His mother was ready to go over there and kill them! But I still love that song!

I used to get in the pit at every show that had a pit up until about 3 years ago lol. By far the most brutal pit I have ever been in out of many is a pit at a Slayer show and a close second would be Slipknot pits and Lamb of God pits (tie). I go to the shows now and watch the pits close by. Sounds like a good show you'll be missing Sam but at least it's for a good reason......

Just got back from seeing Slipknot and Children of Bodom on the final night of their European tour in Luxembourg.

Unfortunately no Machine Head due to Phil Demmel passing out in Sheffield but the gig was still awesome.

Me and mini noms were at the front for the whole gig and clown dropped down from the stage to high five the front row and when he saw mini noms he ruffled his hair. At the end of the gig, when the knot were throwing out drumsticks, Chris came down to us and placed a drumstick in mini noms hand.

I would have preferred more music off the new album but I still rate this gig as one of the best I have been to.

Not seen many bands live which is a bit sad but here is some i have seen.

Bon Jovi-4 times but the best was in New Jersey good home crowd reaction.

Guns and Roses-this one was at the Milton Keynes Bowl and was the complete original line.

Blind Melon.

Souls Asylum.

The Cult-on the same line up as G&R so made for very good concert.

Big and Rich-they were supporting Bon Jovi in New Jersey i had never heard of them but was well impressed and would see them again.

If there is one band that I'd like to go see, it would be Soul Asylum. Where did you see them?

They warmed up for Guns and Roses at the Milton Keynes Bowl not long after they released Runaway Train.

Metallica, Iron maiden, Kings of Leon and Rolling stones are the music bands I saw live on stage. They are great live band to see and one of the best to date.

Big up to my friend Paul, and my new friend Richard.

The gig last week at The Garage in North London was phenomenal - all the best tunes, played brilliantly, by one of the best bands I've ever seen live. And all in front of a sell out crowd in a venue that gets you up close and personal.

Gentlemen and Ladies - I give you...

The Psychedelic Furs

I was also priviledged to get invited to the after show party, where I sat and talked with Richard Butler for a while, spoke briefly with Tim Butler, and spend a half hour having a drink and a chat with my good friend and fellow drummer, Paul Garisto. I freely admit he's waaaay better than me.....

Anyone see any really iconic concerts?

I have not personally but my mother saw Pink Floyd in London for The Wall Tour '79.

Any other iconic concerts that you or your family members/friends saw?
