Hello! I don't know could anybody help me, but I am searching for one song past 16 years without succes...

Now, it would be easy if I know the words, or who is performer, but I have only 8 years, and I wasn't understand english at that time....

I am preety sure that I will recognize song when I hear it...

So, only help I can give to You all, is that song is ballad, it start with a sax, and I think that first word was baby. Men singing, and voice is like Toto, or Nick Kershaw...

If anybody can help, thanx

Still too broad. Anymore clues so we can help you?

Posted by JCWBobC (Member # 2525) on :

I used to like Nick Kershaw a lot & didn't think anyone else knew who he was but yeah you need to give us something to work with for us to be able to help you.

Really I don't remember anything else... Maybe, I remember rhythm, I heard one song before, which have similar instrumental begining, I will find the name of this song, maybe it will help...
Maybe the start of the song is (baby, sorry, baby,you....)

Update:

Begining instrumental of the song i similar as: MEN AT WORK-Overkill

Hope this will help a bit.

Thanx!!!

Maybe Glenn Frey "You Belong To The City"?

Maybe Glenn Frey "You Belong To The City"?
This is very similar too... (Anyway, thanx for the great song), but that one I am searching for is ballad, instrumental begining is preety same to this two, and I think that first word was "baby"...

Thanx!!!

Posted by logan5 (Member # 1467) on :

It doesn't have a sax intro, but 'Overkill' begins a little like Journey's 'Send Her My Love'.

Posted by zivija (Member # 5018) on :

Thanx logan, but this is also just similar...

Really don't know how to find more clues... Anybody know some song which started with baby like "I can die on Your arms tonight"?

Thanx!!!

Devolution here,

I need a bit more. Some lyrics, maybe a group. "I just died in your arms tonight" I don't know, I don't know of any songs that sound like that. Or maybe I'm not thinking enough.

We are DEVO

Posted by Alex In Wonderland (Member # 4912) on :

"I just died in your arms tonight" was by Cutting Crew - but not sure about the sax reference though.

Posted by zivija (Member # 5018) on :

No, there is not sax in the "I just died in your arms tonight" by Cutting Crew...

I just get an idea. I think that I recorded myself singing that song on tape, I wil transform it to mp3, and upload somewhere, maybe someone will recognize it.

How about Broken Wings by Mister Mister?

Baby don't understand
Why we can't just hold on
To each other's hands

This time might be the last
I fear unless I make it all too clear
I need you so

Take these broken wings
And learn to fly again
And learn to live so free
And when we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up
And let us in
Take these broken wings

Baby I think tonight
We can take what was wrong
To make it right

Baby it's all I know
That you're half of the flesh
And blood makes me whole
Need you so

Take these broken wings
And learn to fly again
And learn to live so free
And when we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up
And let us in
Take these broken wings
You got to learn to fly
And learn to live so free
And when we hear the voices sing

Let us in
Let us in

Baby it's all I know
That you're half of the flesh
And blood makes me whole
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah so

Take these broken wings
And learn to fly again
And learn to live so free
And when we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up
And let us in
Take these broken wings
You got to learn to fly
And learn to live so free
And when we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up
And let us in

Just to bump, still looking for this song, so if anybody have fresh idea, please post here. Intro is also similar to Europe-Carrie Thanx!!!

Posted by TKO (Member # 1471) on :

Though not 80's... Curtis Stigers maybe with 'I Wonder Why'???

Posted by TKO (Member # 1471) on :

Um... Europe's Carrie doesn't start with a sax intro right? Cause now it might just as well be 'Babe' from Styx. It starts with the word babe and the intro is sort of the same as in Carrie.

Do you remember if it was a long/short instrumental intro?

Posted by zivija (Member # 5018) on :

Thanx for answer, but neither one is I am looking for. Yes, there is no sax in the Carrie, but this one have sax on start (I am pretty sure), but rhythm (like Carrie begining, but with sax) is similar to Carrie. Athmosphere in song is similar to Styx, but I can't remember words, but I think first one was "Baby".

I can try to give You idea, and try to write some parts of lyrics (even they would be unclear), but at that time I don't know english, and not even understand words, but I will try:

Baby, sorry baby, You started again,
Is there somebody new, is there someobody (unknown text)
Only for You, (unknown text)
(Unknown text)

[Chorus]
What to (or what would)...
What to (unknown text)...
You have to remember, I'll always be,
What to (or what would)... (same as in first line of chorus)

Note: On line before chorus, and on third line of chorus, back vocals do something like this: http://www.sendspace.com/file/z6tcma

That's all informations I am able to give....

Thanx!!!

No sax intro, but this starts with "Babe":

Boston - Amanda

This has sax intro, but female vocals:

Quarterflash - Harden My Heart

Thanx for help guys, but these are not song I am looking for. (but these are great songs, too). I don't have more ideas, how to help You identify the song, so all info I can give is on my previous post.

Thanx!!!

Posted by TKO (Member # 1471) on :

I’m also running out of idea’s zivija.
The following songs also have a sax intro, but unfortunately don’t match with the lyrics you provided. I'll keep thinking. Maybe it's a song from the 90's?

Good luck!

Wham (George Michael) - Careless Whisper

The Dire Straits - Your Latest Trick

The Blow Monkeys - It Doesn't Have to Be This Way

Posted by zivija (Member # 5018) on :

I recorded it to tape in 1989, at latest 1990. These are great songs too, but not the one I am looking for [Frown]
Really, I don't have any idea what song can it be, but I never heard it from that time...

Posted by bandit (Member # 6296) on :

No chance to retrieve that old tape? The tune sure sounds very familiar to me,and i have been googling around a lot tonight. No luck however..Hope you find out.

Posted by zivija (Member # 5018) on :

No, tape was re-recorded, and I lost this song after few listening....

Thanx for trying!

Posted by 80'sRocked (Member # 6979) on :

Did you record it from the radio in 1989 or 1990?

Posted by zivija (Member # 5018) on :

Yes, I recorded it from the radio, it could be from 1988. to 1990. not later.

Thanx!!!

Posted by TKO (Member # 1471) on :

Still the song might as well be from long before 1988. The only thing we know for sure is that it hasn’t been recorded after 1991.
What’s weird is that you haven’t heard it again ever since. So it probably wasn’t a big hit.

Here’s another not so well known ballad from 1990 with sax intro:

Skipper Wise - Standing Outside in the Rain

Again the lyrics don't match though...

Posted by zivija (Member # 5018) on :

Yes, the song may be older, but I think it was not older than 80's. Maybe this song was not so popular, but it is pretty similar to this great songs You find. Some of them I never heard before.

Thanx!!!

Zivija, I spent all evening looking for that song of yours, but couldn’t find it.
Very frustrating… It all sounds so familiar and yet I have not the slightest idea who it might be. Have you tried exploring Richard Marx's repertoire yet? He also had a couple of ballads in the late 80's.

If you should ever find it, it would be nice to let us know. Best of luck!

P.S. In the meantime I keep my ears wide open. [Wink]

Posted by zivija (Member # 5018) on :

Thanx TKO, I will try to explore Richard Marx. By the way, all this songs have similar atmosphere like this one I am searching for.
Of course, if I ever find it, I will let You know.

Thanx!!!

Is it Bryan Adams's "Somebody" ??

Thanx Logan & Isis, but they are not either.

Here is me singing it when I was a kid, I ripped this from the tape. Probably, You will not understand words (I don't know english at that time), but maybe someone will recognize rhythm, and some words: http://www.sendspace.com/file/oc0sda

Thanx!!!

I wasn't able to listen to this thread, but my guesses are:
* Never Tear Us Apart - INXS
* Careless Whisper - George Michael
* Hungry Eyes - Eric carmen (Noy even sure if there is sax)
* Nothing's gonna change My Love for You - Glen Medeiros

Likely not any of these, But I had to try. good luck.

This might be it zivija. I hope so, cause now your quest is becoming an obsession for me also, haha. [Wink]

No sax though, but check out those lyrics…

Chicago - Niagara Falls

Baby, so you think you can start again?
You got somebody new,
But the same thing keeps happening.
At the moment of truth,
Whoever you're loving,
You will be thinking of me.

CHORUS:
As long as Niagara falls,
As long as Gibraltar stands,
Till hell freezes over
I'll always be your man.

Tell me, when you're there
lying by his side.
Do you make him believe
all your needs have been
satisfied?
Does he know that your
heart is taken forever?
Girl, you will always be mine.

CHORUS

Time can't erase
What you feel in your heart
You can't replace the love
No, it doesn't matter how hard you try.
Girl, you're gonna miss
my loving till the day
you die.

Till hell freezes over

CHORUS

Alternate Chorus:
As long as Niagara falls,
Until the end of time,
Till hell freezes over,
You are forever mine

CHORUS

TKO, be sure there is no words to say thank You, THAT IS IT!!!! I know it at the moment I saw lyrics. Somehow, I thought there is sax on the begining, and that song is little slower, but no dubt, that's it.

So now, after almost 20 years of searching, thanx to You the result is finally here.

Thanx to all You people trying to help me, be sure it is highly appreciated. Thanx to this site, and great community!

Thanx!!!!!

You’re more than welcome. It’s a good song by the way.

Stick around!

Well done TKO [Cool] I have a few albums of Chicago and should really know this [Roll Eyes]

Posted by 80'sRocked (Member # 6979) on :

That is a great song. I love Chicago. The problem with me and lyrics is, I am usually listening to the music itself more than the words....especially the guitar parts. It's a habit of mine because I play guitar.

Hello!

After successfully found song I searched for (thanx to all of You), I transfered some instrumentals from Audio tapes, and I need help to identify them. All I know, that one of these is Jan Hammer, but I can't find name of the instrumental.

I zipped them and upload them here:

Thanx a lot!!!

Amazing! I've been holding your drink here for two years! You said you'd be back in five minutes!

All I know is this:

'Sound 2' is a dance medley with (from what I could pick up) 'Baker Street' / 'Ruby Tuesday' / 'Don't You Want Me' / 'Paint it Black' / 'Layla'.

Posted by zivija (Member # 5018) on :

Thanx for answer!

This medley seems to be this one: http://www.discogs.com/London-Symphony-Orchestra-The--Royal-Choral-Society-The--Royal-Philharmonic-Orchestra-Best-Of-Classi/release/526155

It is called "Classic Rock Classics (Medley)" by The London Symphony Orchestra. I can't find it online to listen.
